There have been arguments over banning bottled water. The city of Concord, Mass. was the very first city to prohibit bottled water in the United States, while other towns followed the move. The main purpose of the campaign is to cut down Dasani bottles in dumps. Here is the source: Bottled water ban.

Do not click the link. It's to a website called personalmoneynetwork(dot)com.
Edit: Here's an actual link to the story. http://usnews.nbcnews.com/_news/2012...r-bottles?lite As far as bottled water, I'm going to admit that I am guilty as charged. Why? Not because I dislike tap water in general, but because I'm wary of the tap water in my personal residence. Very frequently it becomes brackish or has a very odd taste to it. Someone has a washing machine in my line when they are not supposed to and I don't know who it is. I live in a rather large apartment complex, so there are over a dozen apartments worth of suspects. I don't like bottled water, But the house I'm living in has bad well water with red sand and all kinds of other fun stuff in it. So sadly right now I do drink lots of Bottled water but I do recycle them for whatever good that does The good news is, I'll be moving in little over a week to a House with Real tap water! the first thing I'm buying will be a Brita filter.
I've herd that the Plastic in bottles take away Your teeths enamel I don't if that's true but It would explain me having 6 cavity's last year...

i reuse my Smart Water bottles, refill them with tap water where i have a pur filter on my kitchen sink, and bring them to work. presto, money saved, nice large bottles, and no waste for the landfill. every few months, i do change out bottles, but they get recycled along with my used batteries and magazines/shredded paper from bills.

the water has been coming out of my tap in slightly weird colors lately, especially after a lot of rain. i have been using bottled water again, because the slightly off-color tap water is still the same color after going thru the sink filter. i noticed that my cat and the two neighborhood cats that i put out food/water bowls for, don't like the tap water but drink the bottled water immediately. i wonder if animals can taste the difference in where the water comes from...?

We chose a house with well water so we wouldn't have to worry about bottled water or fudged up city water. It's a good thing we did because the city we live close to ended up with some very bad water tests recently.
We are due for a well water quality test. It's done yearly mainly because we live close to livestock. The last test passed and water was fine. Our water has no taste, no color, and no smell. It's a little hard though and we are thinking of installing a water softener. |

there is a huge mass of plastics and junk brewing in the Pacific Ocean, in a relatively calm area halfway between Hawaii and California, a distance of 2500 miles. this huge 'island' of plastic junk, garbage, huge section of drift-net from fishing trawlers, other floating materials, has been collecting there for about some ten years or so, and getting much worse because of all the urban wreckage dragged out to sea after that hugely disastrous Japanese tsunami in 2011. scientists say about half of the loose floating plastic are plastic soda and water bottles. geez.
