Jake could have chosen another woman since Neytiri made suggestions, but he still decided anyway to mate with her because apparently he fell in love with her.
But what do you think would have happened if he didn't do that and remained best friends with Neytiri?

Neytiri really isn't the type of woman you can just be friends with if you were interested in her at all. I think she's the type of woman that many men would always want to be with even if she's taken. Jake didn't have a chance. He fell for her spell from the beginning and so did we. Could he have chosen a different woman? Could you? Answer that and you have your answer.
