I am guessing some strong connection to Childhood bonds and memorys that probbly goes deeper then the source material, a connection to child like inocence and happyness convayed a way to excape adult reality.
When a person comes of age one usuly cuts that cord , but some choose to rebel and not do so , of one looks at reincarnete lamas in Tibeten Buddhist practice ,they often find meaning
in playing with childs toys etc even when 80 years old, they mantain there childlike view on our world, the big diffrence is there culture excepts and sees value in there doing so as part of there worldly viewpoint.

Good point. I like that. Our galaxy contains millions, maybe billions of earth-like planets, some capable of supporting life, and there is a very good chance that a lot of them are. I'm pretty sure we will find a Pandora someday.

Even though we have not confirmed life like us anywhere else in the universe it most certainly is exists. I got over my AVATAR depression pretty quickly after realizing the immensity of the universe. Plausible theories exist that suggest our universe is one of many. This not only increases the chances of life elsewhere, but it also increases the chances of Pandora like worlds with Na'vi like creatures. There are some theories based in the same thought that suggest our fictional characters might actually be real in some other universe. If universes are as abundant as atoms then there's an incalculable probability that Pandora and all the fictional inhabitants actually exist.

'fictional' is a relative term, and that word is quite often used when we humans are at a loss to explain the unfathomable reaches of interstellar space. at the end of the vast reaches of the cosmos that are we able to see with our instruments, there is simply more galaxies, more constellations, more star clusters, more black holes, more more more...there simply is no end to space. *just blew a mental fuse*
