Default Collection of Avatar Art

I've done a decent amount of Avatar fan art at this point so I thought I'd post a collection. All except the Avatarmeet cover one are quite old at this point, although there are still older ones that I'm choosing not to post because I didn't really know how to draw at the time...

Neytiri:

Pandora:

And the results of the pineapple jokes, in order of creation (as I remember it). Some of the Na'vi pictured may or may not be Ninat, one of them definitely is.

Very lastly and most recently drawn, the cover for the AvatarMeet Survival Guide

Aside from the pineapple ones (I don't get it), these are amazing.

Oh wow, these are all awesome!

I must have missed out on the pineapple jokes...

I wish I could draw or paint. All I can do is edit photos.

Thanks!

The pineapple thing has spread like wildfire, it started out as an IRC in joke and somehow is now much bigger and has become a part of the meetups. The origins are vague. But the drawings were done back when it was only an IRC thing and IRC was an exciting place to be.

It takes practice, obviously those weren't my first drawings. Just got to keep trying.

I get discouraged quite easily, but there's a story to it. Once upon a time I was quite an accomplished artist and I could draw just about anything, but in 2003 I was bitten by a Brown Recluse spider on my left hand right where the thumb connects at the wrist. The damage to my hand was extensive enough that I almost lost my hand and it took my ability to draw. Or draw well, rather. I guess I get so discouraged because I see things not coming together and I remember what I once was able to do. It used to be so easy.

That's why I switched to Photoshop and do a lot of edits.

Oh, yikes, that's awful. I'm sorry to hear that. I can see how discouraging that would be.
