^ Im sure our western U.S. aysmuk would love some more, but alas the weather is being stubborn. :p Here it was a typical August day, 90F and humid, now it is a calm evening with the cicadas singing loudly.

Expecting a high of 102F at 70% humidity. F*** that.

It's been a surprisingly mild summer so far here at the City of Angels.

Over the next couple of days we will have a slight cool down to highs in the 80's and dew points only in the low 60's, lol the night before last we just missed a big storm to our north, but it still gave an impressive flickering light show.

Finally cooling down here a bit - nice change from the 100+ we've had earlier!

...on a related note, still not getting used to Fahrenheit... grumbles...

^ Yes, that will take some time to get used to, I grew up with it so it would be the other way around with me. What they need to do instead of just giving the conversion from one to the other, is give a chart showing the temps from say -10F to 110F and a chart with the corresponding Celcius, so people can glance and see what the 70,sF correspond to roughly in Celcius so they can have a visual to what the 70's will "feel" like and vise-versa, if that makes any sence :p I guess we could stop being stubborn here in the U.S. and switch, but I don't see that happening for a while.
As for here, Sunny and warm with very light wind.

What I'm doing in general for US measurements, is forgetting about converting from the metric/non-US system and trying to learn them intuitively instead. "Ah, this is how 70 degrees feels like", "I can feel this is how much a pound weighs", etc. - takes longer, but hopefully will leave me without the need to convert anything in the end

We're having a bad weather here. It's a gloomy day and its quite dark. I heard a typhoon is in our area and its causing too much rains and floods. I'm just praying for the safety of everyone who are affected.

Had a severe storm the past two mornings here, I never lost power( during the storms, did loose it while we were gone yesterday for a time) but other places in town had. the storms knocked down trees in spots and the storm this morning collapsed part of an abandonded building downtown. other then that, its been hot and humid here.
