Any big changes will always be presented to and voted on by the community.
There is only one exception to this: that being some feature that starts using an out of control amount of resources, as in, something that would make the host shut us down. That would need to be done immediately, at least in the short term.

I hope that, as this forum grows larger, it can maintain the feel of the old A-F. I've never been the most active of posters, but I think there is a significant difference in the level of openness and community, at least towards semi-lurkers like me, between the current A-F and the A-F of a few months ago. I don't know how much of that is simply a factor of size, but I hope that it can be preserved here.
I also really hope that the negativity towards critics of the movie/the Oscars/THL on A-F doesn't get carried over. All the fanboy bashing and hate really turned me away, so I think it would be nice to be more accepting and less fanatically uptight about the movie.

There in lies one of the problems with getting large and popular. AF became, and still is, the major target for Avatar trolls on the internet. So many try now, that every new poster almost has to be looked at with suspicion until they "prove" themselves. Will that happen here? It's possible I guess, it just depends on the growth rate.
As for the second point, I don't have a problem with critics of the movie if they present their points in a respectful manner. To be honest, some of the more well-known "critics" over on AF are anything but civil. Of course, bashing Neytiri would be a completely separate issue and could well be ban-worthy
