I know that Stephen Lang, Zoe Saldana(?) and Sigourney Weaver are coming back.
Tbh the story could even be about the pre-Avatar period.

I've read/heard some rumours that Sam and Zoe have been fired by James c, and saying grace will be the new villain but most the sources I've heard this from really can't be taken seriously

Frankly I suspect that Avatar 2 is going the story of Quaritch arriving on Pandora and ending with the shooting at the school at sets him on the path of darkness that ends in Avatar. Grace is probably going to be the antagonist to Quaritchs protagonist status which in Hollywood logic automatically makes her the villain. If they are going for this, this might be a very good twist, having the archetypical hero do the wrong thing for the right reasons leading to disaster later on.

Of course this asks the questions of what about Jake and Neytiri. Cameron said that the sequals would be separate stories that feed into one giant narrative. This may mean that each film has its own cast of characters, with Avatar 4 being an avenger's style finale that ties it all together. If this is the case we may not see Jake and Neytiri again until 2023.

woah they should have got you to write the next script, that would be great. On the other hand i've read some sources which say that jake and neytiri will be imprisoned and somehow quaritch (comes back from the dead?) and helps them... this sitesite is where im getting my info from about this Avatar 2 release date, plot, cast and everything you need to know about the long-awaited movie sequel

The main problem I see is that this clashes with the info that suggests that Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington aren't returning for Avatar 2. Its possible that there will be a recasting but I doubt it. They may have a small role as part of a framing device for the story.

I dont want Quaritch Go eat your jujubes.Actually I dont really care of him being the main character,as long as I see Neytiri.If there wont be Sully or Ney in the movie I will be really pissed off

i agree, tbh the audience didnt really get to connect to quaritch he wasnt really a character you took seriosuly/or cared about. he was too much of the stereotypical villain with just about every bad guy cliche you could think of
