Smirnoff! All I had to do to know you was actually go to the forum! Great art! I really mean it. It's easy to just draw some eyes. It's harder to draw some eyes that look like there's something more going on. Nice.

PLEASE READ: THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH GUYS FOR YOUR LOVELY COMMENTS it really motivates, this next piece was my FIRST EVER 'professional' painting (as most of my art is done on paper in ink - almost like a 'doodle').
One of the main drawbacks of using oil paints is that you end feeling 'high as a kite' from how strong the white spirit is and often i'd end up feeling dizzy with really drowsy vision and headaches BUT this is by far my BEST PIECE; my masterpiece so to speak - but i'll probably look back on this painting and think meh.... after i get more practice. NOW i'll stop blabbering. this piece was inspired by my interest in Geiko culture (in Japan) after extensive research i really wanted to draw one - but unfortunately it wouldnt work in my usual style so i had to go big or go home the picture is based off a ceremony called 'misedashi'(http://65.media.tumblr.com/f6fa59a69...d20o1_1280.jpg) but i did switch things up a bit so here we go:

I really like the "misedashi" piece. I was really confused by her colored kimono, but I guess you did that as an artist's choice. I've been studying geiko culture for about ten years now, and love to talk to others about it... the artistic style is truly unique! I did photography of geiko for a couple years in Japan.

Anyway, I like your Avatar small pieces too... am excited to see some completed art! Do you have a deviantArt?

Wow!! Really great pictures - excellent quality, https://www.flickr.com/photos/49766507@N00/4720271983/ - this picture is absolutely stunning , would make a great watercolour illustration. What was it like meeting the Geiko/Maiko? Did you have an 'ozashiki' with them? I'm genuinely interested in any stories or tidbits you have to tell

I think you pull of the Geiko Henshin 'costume' really well! Was the whole ensemble as heavy as documentaries make out? (sorry for the barrage of questions)

Recently I've started colourising antique photos from the Victorian era; which works nicely for me since I don't really enjoy drawing - I mainly just like working with colours. They take an absolute lifetime to complete (any my old computer kept crashing and corrupting the files, which oh.my.god was the most frustrating thing - sometimes I'd have to re-do hours of work). I don't know whether I should post them here though since this is a forum for Avatar and related fan art (??).

In fact I haven't done any Avatar fan art in a loooong time - hopefully in 2021 when the next film comes out I'll start cranking the fan art out again

i like the Japanese geiko piece you did, it reminds me of the Shi comic book series from the late 90s.
