Avatar Sequels Begin Filming In August

This is good news to hear. I been waiting for something and it's been eight years.

I'm not real amped about the 8 year gap in the story though. I wanted to see the aftermath of the big battle and the birth.

i agree with this, i want to see the struggle after the rda is booted off the planet, their search for a new Hometree, their search for identity and leadership as Jake learns the ways of the clan. eight years is a lot of time.

Some of it will be seen in flashbacks or be part of the story as a whole when Neytiri and Jake tell the story.

8 years seems a little too long to just use flashbacks and narration :/
I hope there's going to be another montage like Jakes' training

It will be interesting that the wait to see the movie and the gap of time on Pandora will be similar. Even though they will not be in movie form, it looks like the first round of Avatar comics will cover that 8 year span to some degree so it will be interesting to slide back in to the story before it comes full force in the sequels

So this will fit in about the time the next ISV has arrived to Pandora after a 6 year flight. Make you wonder how the new humans will react.

no matter what the projected/changed in-theaters date is or will be, it still is great news that it is starting production and photography this year!!! i remain a faithful Avatar fan no matter what, the sequels and prequel are coming!
