Should the Avatars totally integrate into the Na'vi?

Should the rest of the avatar team totally integrate into the Na'vi as Jake did?

It would be kind of interesting and subverting expectations if we had some friction between those that want to totally integrate and those than want a balance between Na'vi and human existence.

And that is even before we talk about total memory transfer.

Chances are that they will. They have probably developed a hatred against humanity and they'll want to protect the Na'vi. Of course, they'll be still human souls in a hybrid body, but they'll adapt to the Na'vi life.

Don't you think thats a bit extreme? They turned against RDA for it actions. Turning that into a full blown hatred of humanity seems a little extreme.

Maybe I'm far off the track. If so, sorry about that.
But the thing is that they realised how humans (under the direction of companies and such) have destroyed their mother planet and are about to do the same on Pandora. But honestly my interpretations might not be accurate.

I know my answers not very interesting, but I think that most likely the humans that stayed did so to continue scientific research. Jake was a rare acceptance to becoming 'fully fledged' into their community, (and I'm sure everyone would get pretty bored having to do the whole ceremony, again and again, transferring everyone into Na vi bodies).

Think about it, getting everyone to do this (for some random science geeks who haven't earned there way into the tribe) like 20 times over would get pretty tedious!

But to answer your question; No.
I can GUARANTEE in the next film there is gonna be some a-hole in the tribe whose like 'bitch no one wants you here, go back home... human' (I will legit eat my toaster if this doesn't happen), and my point being:

One - The rest of the scientists haven't earned there way into the tribe, Jake was a rare exception

Two - It would be really awkward having some Navi-hybrid vs Navi war (I mean what are the humans gonna do when theirs some tribe revolt and no one wants them? Mope around the forest all day?) - I mean not everyone on Pandora's gonna be too keen to accept them.

Three - I don't think most of the humans left behind (who were scientists) would be cut out for the Navi hunter gatherer lifestyle, and I'd rather have the "best of both worlds" then make a permanent decision to be transferred into some alien body (I mean its not like you can dig up your old human body if you change your mind)

Realistically, no. As cool as it might be, they need 'good' human characters for the sake of the plot, possibly to cut down on the motion capture expenses as well. As much as Cameron might want to push the envelope as to how much CGI he's willing to use in these movies, I doubt making absolutely every 'good guy' a Na'vi would be cost effective.

He says he wanted more "real" sets as well. It would also be a good way of more human/na'vi interaction and playing with scale. We saw some interaction from the na'vi scale but it would be interesting to see the same on the human scale with the na'vi being so large.

The rest of the humans won't necessarily have to integrate, they can continue life on hellsgate just fine if they want to.
The avatar team should really ask the tribe/eyva for that permanent transfer though:

Norm and Max have no Avatar body to transfer to, they and others are dependent on the life support machinery in hellsgate for the rest of their lives.
All of it, the gas masks, air locks, pipes, pumps and sealings will slowly wear down in the next decades.
With a limited supply of spare parts, it's probably smart to permanently transfer as much humans as possible, so that the remaining ones like Norm and Max can live long enough to eventually figure out how to grow new Avatar bodies.

Me too, but switching to a superior alien body doesn't mean that I'll have to live without a toothbrush and toilet paper because of it So I'd switch bodies in an instant.

(Don't mean to de-rail the thread but I think Norm's avatar was only mortally wounded so he could easily be healed without creating a new Avatar)

Well we now have multi-user avatars so anything is possible.

I would agree with keeping Norm's Avatar alive so he can play a more active role in the plot for the sequels. Perhaps do something like his avatar's arm got blown off so he has a massive mental disconnect between having and not having an arm (perhaps too gory?)

I think the worst situation of living on Pandora would be the radiation. Especially the week where you have to be sealed up because the background radiation levels are beyond safe.

Though an R rated version of avatar with the violence and sex ramped up might be interesting.

Ah ok then I missread that.
Count me in for a R rated version! But it shouldn't go the GoT way where boobs and gore sometimes occur just for spectacle without being really necessary (IMO).
