Well we now have multi-user avatars so anything is possible.

I would agree with keeping Norm's Avatar alive so he can play a more active role in the plot for the sequels. Perhaps do something like his avatar's arm got blown off so he has a massive mental disconnect between having and not having an arm (perhaps too gory?)

I think the worst situation of living on Pandora would be the radiation. Especially the week where you have to be sealed up because the background radiation levels are beyond safe.
