Maybe its like a "reverse" Avatar type thing, having a same species copy of something would be alot easier then having an Avatar of an alien species, so maybe the RDA had Dormant clones of a few high up people, like coffeecup, that sat in somesort of suspended state and occasionally had memory "data" uploaded from thier active counterpart ready to be automatically decanted if thier counterpart died, Pandora is isolated so a sudden death of someone in a leadership position would be "bad" for the RDA and something that could easily have happened war or not. Either way I'm sure JC is going to bring us on an incredible ride, and the Na'vi will prevail, Hell Yea!!! Come on 2020

Well, all I can say is, if Quaritch and Wainfleet are both coming back from the dead, then I want to see Trudy come back too!

What? Why would Jim say his back for all 4... spoilers?
So now when his on screen who cares what happens, he will be around all the way through, there goes any dramatic tension. A good writer can figure a way out of anything so i am not fussed about his return, good for him his a great character but give him more depth Jim.

i can't stand that Neytiri's pincushion is still a relevant talking point, ugh. this isn't comic books, once your evil coffeecup is dead, it should stay dead, grrrrr. retcon madness, smh.

Who says the scenes of the sequels will only occur in the future after the 2154 events?

Col. Probably has an immunity, while the other guy may have survived somewhere in the cockpit.

Looking forward to seeing their return, heads will roll. Oorah.

There was a Marine that survived an RPG that got lodged right in his torso, so I figure maybe the Col. got lucky enough to survive and perhaps had an immunity from the poision on those arrowheads.

Wainfleet's suit was crushed, heavily implied he was killed by it, but you know how it goes, unless you see them actually dead, they are not dead. heck even then they aresomtimes not dead lol. it's sci fi after all.

If Quaritch is back, then maybe his body was found and either he got cloned or a medical miracle saved his life. Wainfleet, he was crushed, or if we believe the deleted scene, the Thanator and Neytiri killed him.

There are lots of thoughts on how these charters could be brought back,, on the subject of Grace there is a possibility she could come back as spirit voice or possibly a spirit transfer of some kind ,, on wainfleet's return possibly some form of genetic transfer of sorts involving RDA technology we are not yet aware of since he has no genetically matched Avatar body to transfer to that I am aware of who knows other then the script writers weaving the story ..

My guess is that they have his DNA and can create another human clone. I mean they are making human/alien bodies as Avatars so a human clone would be rather simple. They also are able to reconstruct major injuries as C-cup promised Jake's legs back so a reconstructed Coffeecup is possible as well.

Well, Quaritch hates the Na'vi. So I guess he would be pissed, when he is somehow transplanted into one of them. But on the other hand a superior body is a superior body, right?
I'd say they transplant his brain in a kind of cyborg/android thingy. Would be a nice symbolism of technology vs. biosphere we've already seen in the first movie.
