I came here planning to post the exact same thing. (Literally -- right down to punctuation and newlines.) Since you beat me to it, I'll have to limit myself to seconding your post.
![]() Also: The Doctor. This has been said, but it can't be said enough. I haven't seen all of Doctor Who, but the ninth and tenth Doctors (played by Christopher Eccleston and David Tennant) cannot be beat. (On a tangent, Eccleston plays the bad guy in one of the GI Joe movies -- consequently, when I saw that film, I was rooting for the bad guys the entire time. )

Samwise Gamgee
"There is some good in this world, Mr Frodo....and it's worth fighting for." http://www.ratewall.com/cpics/bd7291..._rings_sam.jpg Probably of all the characters in LotR, Sam was the one that was most improved from the book. I don't know why, but in the book, I always felt that Sam came across as an idiot. A likeable, brave and loyal idiot, but an idiot all the same. But in the movie, he is much much more. To me he represents the common man who rises up to greatness. Sam is the salt of the earth. He represents all the good things in the male pyche. In fact, he is the person that all of us should strive to be. Sam represents all the postivive traits in humanity. He is loyal, brave and compassionate. At the same time he is extremely effective in a fight. Sam never fights without reason, but woe to any orc or giant spider that stands in his way. In that sense we represents the true spirit of a true warrior. One who fights and wins when he has to. On the other hand he has a healthy dose of suspicion and scepticism. Sam understands the dark side of human (or hobbit?) nature very well. He is suspicious of Gollum and is proved right to be. What is nice is that Sam wins in the end and deserves to. He loses his best friend, but gains the love of his life and a family, something we assume he has always wanted. It is interesting that the very last scene we see is when Sam greets his wife and children. And we understand that for all men in Middle Earth, this is what the war really was all about. It is about defending their family and those who they love. And Sam represents that image to perfection. He is also the only character who holds the ring and resists it Last edited by neytirifanboy; 06-06-2010 at 11:29 AM. |

Benjamin Linus is one of the most interesting and well-written characters I've come across in recent years - I enjoy Lost in general (recently watched it through for the first time), but he is a huge part of it for me along with the original soundtrack.

I think Jack character in the movie Titanic.
I was mesmerized to see this character. May be others will not like this too much. |
