Avatar Home Setups

Hello there
It's Cyan, telling you the great potential this thread has. Basically all you need to do is post pictures of your home theatre watching avatar, you can take them how you like, all you need to do is pause it on your favourite shot, remember you can also post pictures of the boxart however, that's less interesting

Well this is my meager setup.
2 h/k 12W studio pc sattelites
1 Panasonic 265W 6ohm sub with a DIY 250W amp
What's amazing is how much sound 12W with properly sensitive speakers can make. Measured at 95dB.
Off-brand-piece-of-crap 26" 720p lcd.
Compaq FS7600 17" CRT (eventually replacing with Zalman M220-W for Bluray3D)
The Compaq CRT has the best black levels and most accurate color reproduction I've ever seen. The LCD's color palate doesn't even include black All pics taken with VLC upscaling to native res with bicubic.

Hmmm...i dont have a picture but I have my bed lofted in my dorm room with my futon and TV stand underneath it. The TV is a 27'' vizio flatscreen...720p so not full HD. HOPEFULLY, by the summer I will have a 42'' Panasonic full HD tv for my new apartment...but we shall see.

Maybe once I get my new TV, which is going to be a 50" 1080p Plasma. If things go according to plan I should have it within a month or two.

Don't have the bluray yet so not showing avatar, but here's where I'll be watching:

It's actually a surprisingly big monitor, and good for films - I got it second hand cheaply too. Speakers are Creative 5.1 ones, they sound great although I'm not a massive audiophile snob
Also, yes, that is an old Avatar ticket on my desk

Here's my recently purchased 63" Plasma Samsung TV with a bottle of water and the Avatar OST for size comparisons. Still waiting on the speakers to arrive in the mail (4 week wait ... ). I'll post pictures when they arrive.





And yes, that is the TV stand. There's nothing else in the house that would support the 150 lb TV, so I had to use whatever was available. There are two thick wood boards underneath the TV so the glass doesn't break under the weight.

I'm going to have Avatar on my computer too.

Except I'm going to buy it in HD from the iTunes store.

Nice PC, awesome case. I really need a replacement for my flimsy $20 one, the PSU area is bending almost imperceptibly . Those old Dell LCDs are pretty good, but I would watch out for ghosting on fast motion scenes. Awesome desk btw. A messy desk, especially with avatar tickets and beck's, is a mark of honor.

Hey, it doesn't matter what you watch Avatar on or how you watch it. What matters is that it is Avatar and always will be.

Nice PC & Monitor.

My setup could rank high up there but not until I get my new TV! It's going to be a 50" Plasma, and I am sitting so close to it. (5-7 feet depending on the situation)
