This would be awesome.

But as much as I would want to go to a meetup and meet all you guys, there's no way this could work for me with the way things are now. I still live at home (no job yet...) and no way would my parents pay for a flight. Hell, I don't even have my drivers license yet.

I might be able to make it to a New York meetup, New York is not too far from where I live, just need to cross the border, about 8-9 hours away.

Who knows though, by the time Avatar 2 comes out, if that's near the time these meetups happen, I might have my own place (& a job) and could fly somewhere.

No guarantees though.

Yea..if before Avatar 2 releases is when this all happens, I will be 20. James Cameron said Avatar 2 would take about 3.5 years from the day they start. So I would be 20 then.

Geez, I should have my own place when I'm 20.

This meeting is probably years into the future, so im sure that many people have had time to settle down with work and drivers licences and all

I love the webcam idea! With all theese meetings connected, it would be a truly epical event! What do you guys think of working together with other Avatar fangroups btw?

A New York or London meet would be pretty nice (never been to either place) We just would need to plan way ahead so everyone can fit it into their schedules, like 5-6 months ahead.

Maybe for all those for with age problems, a few well-placed IP-based cameras and maybe three or four video projectors set up in split screen on skype... It still wouldn't be the same though.

Well, if the timing is right and Avatar 2 comes out in the summer, i will see it on my 18th birthday. That would be simply epic. I would then leave the theatre, pack a bag, and fly to wherever the meetup is. Wishful thinking...

This idea really deserves to be discussed! I was just wondering what we would actually do on theese meetups? Would we be outdoors/indoors or both? Maybe there could be some cosplaying (would be amasing to re-enact some scenes from the movie with cosplayers ^^).

How about something a little more symbolic as well? Such as, plant trees or similar? And of course, it would be great to actually show the movie! Imagine douzins of people seeing it at the same time!

Well, i for one love this idea to much just to let it go to waste! ^^

First thing that should be done is deciding what would actually happen there as i said. Also, are there now three meetings in the works? South America, North america and Europe? In that case, a city/location needs to be decided were this could all be hold.

Third, how many participants would the meetup aim for? 50? 100? 1000? This also needs to be taken into account as people would have to have somewere to sleep/eat.
