Since about maybe a month ago, I've noticed that everything has sort of slowed down. There aren't as many new threads or posts.
For me, I've run out of original things to say. Every time I think about starting a new thread, I get that sense of foreboding that the first post will be "______ already said this.", that I missed something when I searched first. There is only so much thought that can be pulled out of 2:40, even when we're as dedicated as we are. The wait for Avatar 2 is unbearable, and Avatar 1 hasn't even been released on DVD yet. There have also been a lot of people taking a break, or just plain disappearing. I understand why someone would want to take a break, because it eventually comes down to posting just for the sake of posting because everyone is running out of ideas, just to keep the forum alive. PAD, meetups, Neytiri, it's all been posted on and reposted to death. As Cyan put it: Quote:
Hopefully this doesn't happen, and I'm worrying for nothing. I can't help but have that terrible sense of foreboding that the next 3 years between now and Avatar 2 will slowly let the community drift apart. What do you think we could/should do to keep the dream alive? |
