Default Ok everyone, let's be completely honest here...

On your last Avatar viewing how much did you cry?

I myself am kind of ashamed to admit that I cried through about 70% of the movie. Everything from the fall of hometree, to seeing Jake's Avatar for the first time - knowing what the future holds in store, to the simple things like fly-over shots of Pandora had me welling up.

I don't know if that's just because i'm just a big softie, but it was my first viewing in over a month and it affected me even moreso than it did before.

How about everyone else?

On the first watching yes I cried too. Not so much on the repeat viewings. The thing was burned into my brain so forcefully that I knew every piece of dialog and it just didn't hit me at the same emotional level.

A lot. I usually cry at all the sad parts from the destruction of the Tree of Voices on, but the last time I saw it... I was just about continually from Hometree onwards
Then when it ended, and the credits started, I was just sitting there, thinking 'that's it. The last time I see it in 3D for the foreseeable future...'

I haven't cried yet, but trust me, it's not because the movies didn't touch me, it's the most emotional jerking movie I've ever seen, but for some reason, the emotions were so overwhelming, I just couldn't cry.
I just sat there, completely immersed in a world I so deeply wished to be on.

Surprisingly, I only cried two times (Which is nowhere near enough) the last time i saw it: When Hometree fell and Seze, Tsu'tey and Trudy died.

Well, it was in old theater in 2D, old film projector, very bad sound and low FPS. (Nowhere near the 3D experience on a big theater). I love living in the middle of nowhere, except the part of a big 3D cinema being unreachable.

I cried whenever, at all time when I felt sad.

I cried during two scenes: when Jake becomes one of the Omaticaya and when Neytiri saves Jake by giving him the exopack after the fight with Quaritch. These two moments are simply epic and magnificent.

I always tear up at the fall of Hometree and Grace's death, and Jake's first flight still gives me goosebumps. I haven't seen it in about a month, I'd like to go again and see how it affects me.

The last time I saw Avatar...I was crying before I even went, just thinking about it. I was thinking it could be the last time I would see it in the theater, and I was just so sad to think of it leaving. That caught me off guard!

During the movie, I was teary at the destruction of Hometree, and then through the whole ending, from the time Neytiri saves Jake after killing Quaritch right through to the credits.

I don't exactly cry, I get watery eyes but that's it.

For me that's a lot, I normally don't get touched by stuff.

I was raised with the whole British Stiff Upper Lip thing, and as such I honestly can't cry in public...

...that said that the whole of the movie was so touching the last time I saw it (with the knowledge that it probably IS the last time) I was almost busting a blood vessel as I fought to hold back the tears. The moments both beautiful (Neytiri's "I see you" at Jake + exo-pack) and terrible (the fall of hometree) never failed to move me. And although I plan, daily, to sneak out and see it again, I never can quite bring myself to do so.

Not healthy responses in either case but hopefully I will get around them eventually.

I rarely cry at things, it takes quite a lot to make me, and I never have at a film before...
