The only time the Rim Drive was open to Cleetwood Cove was in 2007, and the boat tickets were all sold out by the time I got to the park. So, no, that is something I still have to do. The possible snow levels at both Crater Lake and Lassen Volcanic are one of the main reasons for my whole timeframe of the roadtrip. I usually start in June, but not until August this year. That's also going to put me in the desert parks in California in late August, which means I will die if I get out of the car basically, but that's OK
