I just wondered something...
Place yourself in the Na'vi's situation. Pandora is the world, it hasn't changed for a long time, when suddenly, these people appear. They look so different to anything else on Pandora, but still look more like the Na'vi than any of the animals there. It turns out they seem to be able to speak to each other, much like the Na'vi do, but they haven't tried to communicate yet. What would the Na'vi have thought and done? Myself, I think they would have been really interested, and wanted to know more about these people.

Caution would be expected as the Na'vi are hunters. Look on everything as you would prey, else you become the hunted. But I would be curious as well as careful...

First of all one would probably react with a hostile mind due to the fact you dont know what the hell ' that ' is... atleast since humans are used to being able to wield weapons that are way easier to hide than bow & arrow(They might react in another maner since they are used to being able to see the weapons presented in front of them - also they would probably feel that they have the upper hand due to sheer size ). So you dont wanna end up at the wrong end on the gun so to speak... but once you realise that thing arent blowing up around you - one would ofc become interested in who & what they are...
Imagine finding intelligent life... pheeww Anyways the film sort of gave us the answer: Curiosity followed by sharing followed by human stupidity and ignorance.. |

Well..having lived in the Jungle for the whole of my life and suddenly seeing metal birds flying in the sky would have been shocking for me. I suppose that them being scared at first...its totally natural. But then again...who drives the metal bird is a fool/saint like everything sentient. I know that it would have been quite the experience for anyone.

I've actually considered this myself, only that we possessed the same intelligence we do now, but the aliens that came to Earth were the Na'vi, and they had even more intelligence than us.
That'd be a much different situation, but what if they had the power to disrupt all our communications? To cause some sort of focused EMP attack that put all our tech weapons out of action. We'd be almost as helpless as the Na'vi, and what if we had something they needed? Like... maybe some precious metal or mineral that only existed here would be priceless to them? Maybe... gold was a perfect item for their use on their planet? (It can't be mixed with anything; can't be flawed; it's plausible). Anyway, they pillage our cities and "sacred" (or valuable) locations in search for this item. What would we revert to? These new... creatures look like us. They seem to communicate with each other (like HNM has pointed out), but they have some sort of program that allows them to look like us and talk like us... They are a strange group of blue aliens that are much taller and fiercer than us. They don't seem to be able to breathe our atmosphere since the air pressure isn't "as dense as theirs" (according to one alien... we think he might be a scientist of their people). I say we, as a society, must prevent any unnecessary destruction of our planet. Will that require war? Yes. What do we have to fight them with? Our underground experts are finding ways to put our weapons back in action to use against them. Will our petty guns and tanks work against their plasma rays and laser cannons? We don't know, but we've got to try something. ....And what if one of the aliens is peaceful? She has taken part in the program that allows her to resemble us humans. She wants to help us fight. She finds ways for us to break their defenses, find their weaknesses... She falls in love with a man of great influence over a particular country. What does her human form look like?

I would be curious and cautious at the same time.
Then I would probably observe them for a while but then hope that they leave soon without ruining anything. We all know how that went

Not sure how curious of beings the Na'vi are...I would lurk in the shadows and observe the antics of the "new beings" base a direct approach from there.

I wonder if Eywa had informed the Na'vi elsewhere when the Sky People did things to hurt the land

Some probably saw it from a distance and spread the word.
The tribes are scattered everywhere so it's possible.
