Default One of the clearest moments of my entire life.

And it was all so simple to achieve.

I have just returned from a 4 mile walk out in the country lanes, something I do very often. This time however, I decided to leave my music behind so that I could be alone with my thoughts, something that has been troubling me of late...

So I was walking along and the sky was so very clear. All the stars were out and the moon was full and the brightest i have ever seen it. Suddenly I remembered the thread about walking and running barefoot so I impulsively decide to take my shoes and socks off.

It was quite incredible. The feel of the tarmac under foot was so much better than wearing shoes and I began to run. Then I broke into an all-out sprint.

That's when the moment hit me.

Something about it all seemed so perfect, bathed in the moonlight, stars shining in the ether above me, running as hard and as fast as I could, the feel of the surface under foot... it was all just utter perfection. Time seemed to slow down and it was almost as if the moment lasted an age. The moment eventually passed, I suddenly stopped running, stared up at the moon and thought to myself "This. This is how i'm supposed to be."

Then I shed a tear of hapiness.

Sorry, but I just had to share this moment with you all.

It was all so breathtaking.

(And this was the last song I listened to before I left the house, it was stuck in my head and I could hear it in my mind at the time. (Skip to 4:26))

That sounds incredible ma tsmukan! No need to apologize I love hearing stories like this... yea I may be a music addict but sometimes I feel like I need to set music aside so I can be with my thoughts, just me, my thoughts, and the nature around me.

And good choice in music I love Lostprophets

It sounds kind of like you had a "first run" like Jake did in his Avatar, though of course he had the added pleasure of not being crippled in the Avatar. That really is how humans are meant to live, this artificial life we've created is not natural.

Man, I wish I could do the same.

It must be great to feel like that, like, free, complete, filled, alive. And being barefoot, you know people just used shoes except on Sundays when you could take a walk without being cut with any shattered glass? Man I really want to go back in time...

I am jealous of you. Really. You all seem to have such a great experiences.

Nice. I've been meaning to try barefoot running again for a while. I used to do it years back, but haven't for such a long time

Human No More, you should definitely start doing that more often... I just started doing it last year and I feel tremendous improvement over wearing shoes. When I wear shoes, it feels totally unnatural and I wonder why I even wear them. When I go barefoot, it feels really pure, as if I was going back to my primitive roots again but with all the joys of being alive. Just feeling the grass on my feet and the hardness of the ground as well as the soil, it really brings me back to realizing what I've been missing ya know? So try it! Don't be afraid to be ridiculed or mocked, live your life! Live your life as you see fit... *pats back and gives you a hug*

Brilliant! It's not safe to run barefoot around here, but I'll have to find somewhere to try this.
