Went to my local BestBuy store to check out some of their digital projectors and found they still had their 3D TV set up. The thing that really surprised me was it was playing Avatar ... in 3D.
It was the real deal - I was watching Avatar in 3D. The image was as clear and sharp as you could expect from watching it in 2D on Blu-ray. The 3D really stood out and was more apparent than it was at the theater (this was probably due to the brightness of the TV). From what I understand, as long as you have a 3D compatible TV, all you need are shutter glasses, a 3D Blu-ray player, and any Blu-ray disk, then you're set to go. I guess I know what I'm buying next once I get the money.

I'm not in any hurry to look into 3D TVs at the moment. I will when they stop making movies 3D using the "conversion method" (even though it seemingly has no correlation to its affect on 3D TVs). Start making legit 3D in theaters, that will make me want to look into this =).

I too went to Best Buy Saturday and saw they had a 3-D TV playing, and I was like, "let's see how it looks" so I powered up the glasses, put them on, and didn't want to take them off... it was astounding! It really was 3-D! Crystal clear!

How was it compared to theater 3-D stanley? Would you say better, worse, or same? I think with the right setup the 2D is better in home which interests me about the 3D

Anyway, I've been thinking about getting a 3dtv, but they're expensive as hell (double price here in Sweden on everything, too. Not joking.), and I'm afraid they might become.. well, outdated, very quickly - if the standards change.

![]() Won't be like the cinemas 3d I suppose, since I'm guessing it's just a frame delay on one eye.. but I'm guessing it's cooler than normal 2d

The only difference I noticed between 3D TV and cinema 3D is the brightness of the picture which in turn made the 3D more noticeable. The quality of the picture, the sharpness, and the colors are all the same, it's just in 3D.

Nice, I still haven't seen a 3D TV... I doubt I will in the foreseeable future either
