I think you just put her forward. Good call.

Tali'Zorah nar Rayya - Mass Effect Wiki - Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, walkthroughs and more

Yes. I like Tali. I have only played ME1 so far. She has such a sweet voice and is good in a fight. Not to mention the shapely hips.

Susan Ivanova - Babylon 5

"Ivanova is always right. I will listen to Ivanova. I will not ignore Ivanova's recommendations. Ivanova is God. *And*, if this ever happens again, Ivanova will personally rip your lungs out! "

Susan Ivanova - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

No it's not always blue alien babes, witches and fighting chicks in tight outfits that I like.
My favourute character of B5 was Susan Ivanova. Ivanova (notice how i use her surname) is clearly an intelligent woman who shows her great outer strength, determiniation, leadership qualities and loyalty time and again in B5.

She was not made up to be a startling beauty, but I found her extermely attractive in the roll that she played. I think it is because the military facade she puts up is tempered by her empathy and compassion.

She was the sort of character who always wanted to do the right thing and was prepared to make sacrifices for what she believed.

At one time in my life, I actually regarded Ivanova as my ideal woman. Intersting considering she is not only fictional, but apparently gay as well. (Mmmm, just like Willow???!!!)

I was really sad that Ivanova left at the end of season 4 and I really missed her in season5. It just wasn't the same without her.

Yay, Babylon 5 <3

But more on the subject, I thought I'd come up with at least few great female characters, but when I start to think more, I can't remeber anyone that would really stand out.

Even when I take a peek at my IMDB vote list, the only one I found there was Mrs. Brisby in The Secret of NIMH.

Maybe I'm just too confused at the moment to properly remember anything, but at least I found one, but I can't give any good description, because I'm horrible at describing anything.

Suffice to say, The Secret of NIMH is a brilliant movie, maybe the best old-school animation ever made, but that's just saying from my limited experience.

I really hope others make a contribution too. It is not intended to be the neytirifanboy favourte character thread as it is looking at the moment. And there are a lot of movies and TV I haven't seen which I am sure have great characters. I would love to hear other people express their views. Perhaps I might even get some ideas.

Well doesn't Mrs. Brisby count then? Or is it due to my inability to give out proper descriptions?

Of course, anyone counts. I don't know who Mrs Brisby is. What show is she from?

Well I said in my first post that she is from The Secret of NIMH (1982)

It's one of the best old-school animated films ever made, and I would recommend it to anyone.

Max Guevara - Dark Angel

"Oh, please tell me you're not one of those people: because a raindrop fell in the ocean 10,000 years ago... and a butterfly farted in India... you and I are sitting right here right now... enjoying a cup of coffee that tastes like goat piss."

Max Guevara - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

To be honest, I wasn't that fond of the Dark Angel Universe. I think that is because I am not so interested in the distopian post-apocalypic sci-fi. I prefer the more Utopian sci-fi like Star Trek and Babylon 5.

However, I did like Max, the genetically engineered herione from Dark Angel.

Physically she is everything a man would like. She is beautiful, athletic, curvy, sultry and exotic and looked great in skin hugging costumes.

Despite being a great fighter, she also was able to maintain her femininity and was also compassionate, caring, empathic and loyal and had a sense of humour. Typically for a heroine, she was always wanting to do the right thing, even if that put herself or her freedom in danger.

Looking back, it occurs to me that Max may have been a pre-cursor to Neytiri, which may not be surprising considering James Cameron produced Dark Angel. There are similarities in personality between Max and Neytiri and both have actual feline characteristics. While Neytiri looks slightly cat-like, Max had cat-DNA.

The main difference between the two, was the worlds where they live, and the fact that Neytiri did not have super-powers, at least in her world.

So I like Max for two reasons. 1) Simply because I have always liked her and 2) because she now reminds me of Neytiri.

Kira Nerys - Star Trek Deep Space nine

Kira Nerys - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I have to admit, I wasn't a big fan of the eariler episodes of DS9 because it often felt more like a Soap Opera than a sci-fi series. I only started liking it later seasons towards the end when the war started.

But the one character than always made it woth watching for me is Kira.

Physically I find her very attractive. I like her look and she looks great in that figure hugging red unfiform. And I love bajoran nose bridge which makes her look like she is spermanently sruching her nose making her so cute. I also love her smile which I find so magical, endearing and pretty. I also just love the way she speaks, which is more important to attractivenes than many realize.

Of course, for me physical attractiveness in a femal character although essential, is never enough. I also love her personality. Being a former Bajoran resistant leader she is brave, determined and has obvious leadership qualities. Despite being fo high rank, she is very much a hands on person and is willing, indeed determined, to take part in any fight that comes along.

Despite being a serious and reliable person in nature, she also has a compassionate and humorous side to her personality. She also shows an ability to forgive and change attitude as she comes to tolarate her previous Cardassian enemies

The only thing that irritated me anout Kira was her love afaire with Odo. It is not that I dislike Odo. It is just that it is difficult for me imagine a love affair between a humanoid and a blob.

But love affairs with blobs aside, Kira is definately in my top ten of favourite female TV/Movie characters.

Watts - Some Kind of Wonderful

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_AvWcBGSuAT...970c-250wi.jpg

The first fictional character a fell in love with was the Tom-boy Watts from Some Kind of Wonderful. Being a teenager myself at the time, I really wanted a girl who would show me the same love, attention and devotion as she showed for Keith. This is a theme for me as I like other female characters, like Dizzy from Starship troopers and indeed to some extent Neytiri, for the same reason.

Apart from that I found Watts to be intelligent, confident, independent and cool, the latter being particularly important since I was not particularly cool myself.

She was very physically attractive, despite wearing boys clothes all the time. All round I found her to be more attractive than her female rival in love Amanda Jones (played by Lea Thompson), although I actually found Amanada attractive as well.

In most brat-pack movies, the I generally find the characters to be quite shallow. But Watts moved and affected me in a way that no other character from movies of that time managed to a achieve. And indeed for a time, I regarded Some Kind of Wonderful to be my favourite movie simply because of the character of Watts.

Vamp Willow - Buffy the Vampire Slayer

"Bored now"

Doppelgangland - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
http://www.sfbrain.co.uk/sf/AlysonHa...illow_BtVS.jpg

Despite only appearing in two episodes, vamp Willow is once of the most memorable female characters ever to appear in TV.

She is the ultimate badda$$-esse. She is pure evil, being ruthless, sadistic, power-hungry, deceiving, sarcastic, sultry and much more. She is the ultimate female kick-a$$ siren. And if ever an evil character needed more air-time, it is vamp-Willow.

There are absolutely no redeeming aspects in her character, but boy is she entertaining to watch.

In addition she has one of the best costumes ever worn by a female character. Who would have guessed that Willow would look so good in red leather. But she does.

It is no surprise that Doppelgang land is one of the favourite ever episodes for many fans of the whole Buffy series.

Of course, I haven't mentioned her as there are so many other threads on Neytiri including the "Neytiri is Devastatingly beautiful thread" and and Neytir-Quests excellent analysis in the Fan Articles section, among others.

But I like to talk about other characters I like. I just wish others would join in.

If I was to talk about Neytiri in this thread. Well, lets just say I would leave the best until last.

Cara - Legend of the Seeker

"If you'd given me the task sooner, he'd already be dead."

http://scifibloggers.com/wp-content/...ker-poster.jpg

Off female characters in more recent series, Cara is definately one of my favourites.

Cara is effectivel the "Bad girl gone good".

Being a Mord-Sith, Cara likes nothing more than giving pain and will not hesitate to enter a fight. Although she now serves the Seeker on the side of good, you can tell that she enters any fight or conflictive situation with unbound enthusiasm. She has a great capacity for ruthlessness and cruelty and has to supress these instincts in order not to suffer the disapproval of the compassionate Seeker and his other companions.

However, Cara also has good qualities. She is extremely loyal and completely devoted to the Seeker. But i always get the feeling that Cara's devotion for the Seeker is motivated by true love. In fact a love that is so true, that she does seem to feel resentment or jealousy that the Seeker loves Kaylan instead.

Apart from that, Cara looks great in that leather Mord-Sith costume. And it strikes me that the Mord-Sith costume is not disimilar to that worn by Vamp Willow who I mention above. I am sure there is cross inspiration there somewhere.

In summary Cara is a great kick-a$$/bada$$ female character. Although I find her attractive, I would prefer to have her as my very own devoted body-guard rather than a lover, providing I could stop her from unnecessarily killing and torturing eveyone who comes close that is.
