I found my way here earlier today (thanks Eltu!) and already this feels more like the home we used to have at AF. I am well out of the loop concerning what exactly happened over there, but I am so glad to find that the community we built over the past two months has not disintegrated.

I'm really glad to be part of you guys here, now, and still plan on visiting both forums. I am really happy that relations between the two forums have eased a bit, and I'm hopeful it will stay that way. Regardless of what happens, I am glad for this haven. It feels like coming home.

Sorry to be overly sappy, but I really hope we can rebuild and reunite our community!

It's like a subtle hint in how many of us felt alienated when AF changed its style and format, and how many of us are starting to wonder if it'll ever change back. Chances are it won't, and there's "only one place" we can go: to this forum. Loved it. Absolutely brilliant. Whoever thought of putting that in the header has my utmost respect and gratitude.
Agreed. In the movie that line carries a sad connotation, but here in this context, it brings hope. That must be how the Na'vi felt.

Brings me great hope, little dissapointed with AF though. We have put a cool footer on ours, what do we get? A small hyperlink. Inadaquate. But I'm not going to be a whiner...

It has been changed to an image now, but is still placed in a less obvious position than ours.

I'm not sure why you would be banned...

Anyway, both sides engaged in plenty of bad behavior, but it has been put in the past and we are all friends again.

NO WE ARE NOT.

Just had quite an exchange with Xcrunner and Na'viWalker, and they don't give "two s**ts" about anything. They think every single one of you moderators and administrators of this place are a bunch of sissy, power-hungry f**kheads who could care less about the other members. The animosity is still strong and alive, and I don't believe it'll ever go away. It's like the U.S. and Russia being "friends" when anyone with half a brain knows that isn't true.

I hate it. I absolutely hate it. I wished I could just become a moderator of AF after all the contributions I'd made. And for WHAT? For this crap that the moderators don't give "two s**ts" about? I don't think so. If they believe this place is off to the dogs in a heartbeat, so be it. I'm going to contribute as much to this forum as I possibly can. Hopefully I'll become a moderator soon JUST to piss them off at AF, but also to serve the members, and not spit on them.

This makes me sick. All this talk of "peace" is a bunch of bullcrap. There is no peace. There never will be. Ever. Maybe the members aren't against this place, but the former moderators are, even ones that have still remained moderators. It's sad, really. Truly sad.

It isn't just them, though. I've spoken to a load of different members and a few other moderators. They think this place is a joke, and anyone who's a part of it can kiss their a$$es, that no one here is here without being such "whiny babies" (quoted, Rikimaru) on AF.

That may be, but they will find that they are wrong when this place continues on.

What you say, Woodsprite, is basically very true, unfortunately. I am fully aware that there are many who are very pissed off about this forum and I know who many of these people are.

But the thing is - most people here does not care about that. And in this case this is actually a good thing. There might be haters (and I myself lost much of my respect for xcrunner/NaviWalker after their outbust which was really hurtful) - but this will always be the case.

At least the members are not causing flamewars

And this I think, is the most important thing. If you think that people on AF are a bunch of ayskxawng well... then stay on here

Even if there really is no peace, I think that most members can find themselves a home on either AF, ToS or both - regardless what a few people think.

Eltu

Unfortunately, there will always be a few people who can't put the past behind them. Even I managed to with Lon... If you said to me a few days ago that I would, I would have laughed at you... Some people just can't give up and admit that they needed to reconsider though.
I'm with Woodsprite and Eltu on this, I would have loved to be a mod on AF and help the community there, but it never happened. Not going to any anything about who was a mod there, other than that they are not all bad, and ar0c6 in particular has been very approachable and has listened all through this, but that sometimes when things are going on, it can get to people. There was no excuse for what xcrunner in particular said, Naviwalker did manage to maintain a small amount of respect from me by not going that far. Really though, I think that the opinion of two people who have both quit AF (along with a third) doesn't really matter so much, and they are possibly even angry because they see that we are doing what they wished they could do.

Really, even if this, as you said, like the US and Russia (which side are we? ) and it will never be absolute trust between the two, I'd still prefer that to WW3, to use the analogy again. A continued rivalry between the forums is pointless and destructive, particularly since neither naviwalker or xcrunner even go to AF anymore.

I've been through this rodeo one too many times. Power struggles, flame wars, and even total anarchy is the battle. It is the hell that is the demise of a forum. I myself have been a victim of it for over 5 times. The first 3 storms of hate came from a disagreement that got blown out of proportion. What the moderators and admins didn't see is that the members of the forum were getting effected emotionally.... very emotional might I add. They continued on their bickering war, and even though the conversations were in hidden channels, we could smell the discontent from the admins and mods. No one needed to explain anything, everyone knew what was going on. I had to support my good friend from crying because he didn't want this clan to go down the hole, it was his first clan ever, and we were together for our first month in tryouts; we became best buddies. We got lucky though, some of the cooler and more skilled admins were starting a fun new clan, that I am now a part of to this very day. I insisted that we add my best buddy, and they did with open arms. This clan has a great policy that any forum or chatroom can follow:

No one is a boss, no one has a throne. Be who you are. If things get out of hand, know that we got a boot, and there's the door.

The other 2 times this happened to me were from recent events. They were LOTRO related (Lord of the Rings Online); I was being a skxwang and an inconvenience for everyone. I'm very sorry for that...

Moderators, gentlemen, I want you all to make a pact that you will follow. For our sack. Will you hear it?
