Default Musings on Rumi

"Sigh", So Kat had some company come visit over the last week, and well I must admit I was less than happy with all the disruption they caused, its like they were just taking over my happy space and I was soooooo glad when they were gone. I'm just venting it out here cause well I just need a listening ear, and betting most here have had a similar experience. I mean they are good friends and I don't want to hang on to it, cause I really do care about them and such. Of course my parents would probably say the same about me when I go to visit them. Lol.

So then i found this quote, I love reading Rumi, whom doesn't! And well it made me think and put stuff in perspective.

The Guest House

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
As an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they're a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
From Essential Rumiby Coleman Barks

Ahh ..so true, so true, so true, I realized I was only seeing the negative and then thought about all the laughter and delight and fun, ahh what's a few dishes to clean up, after all. My mom would laugh and say oh Kat you might be finally growing up after all!

Here's a link to some more of Rumi Poetry, four pages, just thought I'd share.
