NOUNS - Dative case allomorph
An allomorph is a modified version of a prefix, but which doesn't change it's purpose. All noun cases have allomorphs (eg. topic -ri, -ìri), I want you to remember that, it might be useful when translating someones sentence. I want to note that the dative case allomorph is not so different, but it's very hard to find if you forget about that allomorph. -ru , -ur Allomorph -ur is used after consonants. oe-yä +'eylan-ur oeyä eylanur - to my friends (marked a consonant because of which we are using the allomorph -ur, if it was a vowel we'd use -ru) Note ^ How do you recognise "friends" in this sentence? 'eylan - friend Lenition causes ' to disappear - that I did not mention before, since it's not crucial usually. Case allomorphs (and pretty much most of all prefixes/suffixes/inflixes) are different when next to vowels, consonants, or other inflixes. It's all described in the wikibooks. Still I don't write it all here. It's too much, and it's useless. Usualy you'll just want to put a prefix in its place without any transformations (except for lenition). We want the language to be simple, right?
