Not rock climbing, I just scale some big trees for views and what not. All I insinuated is that I've become quite effecient at it.

I REALLY want to climb Tane-Mahuta, but I think id get shot

Used to climb this big Aulder tree (I think that's the spelling), at the moment I've got a 30m Kauri out the front of my property, I can get a fare way up that until the branches get too thin. There is a plum tree out the back also. I just wish I lived around more trees.

DOC would shoot you for climbing Tane-Mahuta.

WOW having a tree that big must be amazing!!

not only DOC though imagine the local iwi, although i could do it at night......

Meh. It gets skinnier as you go up until its too dangerous to go any further. My step-dad climbed it and took out two branches on the way down and nearly broke his back. However I'm more careful.

Lol. No, he wasn't that unlucky. He fell from about 2.5m and didn't break anything, he managed to do a roll onto the ground. I should have filmed it but that would have been quite sinister.
