I'm not inexperienced in forum drama either, I witnessed the death of a very large forum before... It was not a nice experience. Particularly with what came to light as a result of it. The truth is, as a community gets larger and older, the chance of something happening increases. It's how well they handle that that truly show how good it is.

Watching the demise of AF has wrenched my heartstrings, I am torn between hope for AF and embracing the return of old times for this new forum.

I am going to assume you are the person I think you are, if not, you have my apologies.

The reason I said I had lost my respect for you (in plural) is because of what you said deeply hurt several persons. I still can understand the cir***stances and believe me when I say it is nothing personal.

I fully understand that several of the mods on AF had an extremely hard time keeping things in order, I do not deny that. Personally, however, I cannot answer for anyone's actions but mine.

And personally... you can see the reason I stood behind the creation of ToS by just looking at the forums. People are expressing that they feel they have regained the feeling of warmth and closeness, ToS has now grown to a place full of friendship.

This is the one and only reason I wanted to create the forums. For HNM, zongtseng and the rest of the admins... they will have to speak for themselves.

To be honest, I am really, l really glad that you came here and straightened this out. I hope that the forums can continue to coexist.

I would have loved to be a mod at AF back when it was good, when I really thought it was worth helping, but this has nothing to do with power. The reason I created these forums is the same as Eltu. To be honest, when I spoke to the others, I only ever brought it up as a possibility - "What about if we started our own forums then?" but was amazed by the resulting enthusiasm for it.

What's done is done now, can we not just drop this thing? Everybody said insulting things to everyone at the time, but, as Shatner has said, the whole situation was talked out.

I wasn't sure it was you, but I remember the last time I called someone a jackass was when a mod from AF started making fun of 9/11 during the conference.

As someone who joined AF quite early (New Year's Day), but has never participated so much, I found that the spirit of the beginning, the love, the warm-hearted posts were gradually fading away, long before the change of the design.
I didn't notice anything about flame wars, hostility or whatever, but I really didn't feel so attracted to AF anymore.
So, when I came here yesterday, it was like travelling back in the good old times, the beginng when the Pandora effect was capturing me completely. For the atmosphere of love and kindness and for God's sake also for the whining, which I could hardly find anymore in AF I will stay here.
