, I've always wanted to do that sometime. I've been sandboarding before, which is kind of similar, but there's just something about snow...

I'm fortunate enough to live very close to a stretch of forest. It's not particularly big, since the mountains (more like hills) serve as a barrier between my town and the Pacific, and it's cut off by SF up north. But the wilderness in those mountains is quite nice, and I love hiking there. The mountain air smells great. I really hope that the state of California won't pull funds for parks, but there are other economic priorities, and sometimes, tradeoffs have to be made if absolutely necessary.
