I would believe it if you want to get fit faster, you have to push alot harder. Sometimes, you push so hard, you sprain an ankle .But when all is said and done, the pain makes you hardy inside as you deal with it. I agree that walking gives you a lot more less stress, but if your trying to lose weight or get in shape, that just simply won't do. You really need to push your body, and pain is what tells you that your doing a good job. However if your experiencing spikes of pain and your body hesitates to use that body part, good bet you did something wrong to that part and that you need to give it a rest with some ice for a day or two.

I belive in listening to you body, don't push it to hard, don't force yourself to eat/not eat a lot of stuff. When I crave something I usually eat it (I've never been on a diet and never had any weight problems), and when I've sitten still to long my body tells me it's time to move so I get up and do some stretching or something. I try do miniexcercise everyday, like biking to work and such. Going to a gym or something like that have never worked for me, but I could probably use a litte more excercise at times

That's exactly my philosophy. I don't specifically go to exercise, but I walk most places, and I'm fairly active in terms of things I do when I go out (a moshpit is surprisingly tiring
). I don't eat massively healthily, but I don't eat a huge load of unhealthy food either. Actually, I probably don't eat as much as I should overall, but some days I eat a lot and some days I will hardly have anything.

Mens sana in corpore sano, they say.
I am also trying to get rid of the excess of fat, eating less chips and chocolate bars for example, and running more. I've just began to love it, to just move by myself without getting on the bus or picking the car; it's less quick and more relaxing in some way, like, no rush. It's not as much as something planned like a timetable or a workout routine, I just do what I feel like doing, and eat when I feel hungry. EDIT: Haven't read it before, but what Fkeu'itan said.

Currently, I'm on my "purification diet".
500 Calories a day, composed only of organic foods (mainly protein(fish - turkey) with some vegetables). Water or tea only. Hour walk at dusk, with a 6:00 am workout every morning except the weekend.

Avatar definitely motivated me. I was eating fast food 3 to 4 times a week and drinking about 2 to 3 sodas a day. I never really cared because I haven't gained weight since, like, Jr. High. But after watching Avatar I was motivated to cut fast food and soda out of my diet, not for health reasons, but because such things are not good for the environment. But as a bonus, I'm now more healthy. I go on bike rides when I have the time(my last bike ride was about 20 miles long). I've also started going for hikes in the woods next to my house. In fact, I'm about to go for a hike right now.

Yeah 500 is not good, you may lose weight doing that but you are also losing every bit of muscle you had along with that. I know a guy who did a diet similar could basically only eat lettuce and lemon juice, had some wine and the natural sugars shocked his body and he passed out.
I hope that this is a temporary thing for you as its not exactly the best thing for your body. As for pushing through the pain as stated earlier, thats how you grow. When you look at building muscle you are tearing the muscle tissue and then as it repairs it grows back stronger. Its the same thing with the guys who break tons of bricks with their arms, they have slowly micro fractured their arms when doing it and the bone grows back thicker and stronger than before. Always improve, you ran/walked so far today, push for more the next time you go out or you body will just plateau and never change.

Don't tell me going to a club, jumping up and down and throwing shapes for 4 1/2 hours isn't a serious workout. ![]() Also, I think the mental aspect is falling behind a little bit here so i'll just say be happy people!

Actually you should eat around 5 meals a day
breakfast snack lunch snack dinner This allows your metabolism to continuously work. By waiting until you are hungry or you skip a meal your body starts to go into starvation mode where it will store fat and use up muscle.

Ok, I just jogged a mile and a half no stopping! I know that this isn't too shocking for some people, but I seriously have never run that far without having to stop because of a cramp or something. This goes all the way back to my middle school and high school days. Pretty sad for a 30 year old lol. I never put the effort into actually trying.
It feels soo good to see progress! I also got about 20 minutes of lifting weights in. Feels good!

Ever since I sprained my ankle, the pain is so much to bare. I try stretching my legs in 4 different ways for 10 seconds each. I don't know if more stretching would prevent the intense pain from coming back.... Do you guys have the solution for that?
