40 minutes of jogging straight is about 3 to 4 miles

Wear an ankle brace for running...you really don't want to risk reinjuring it. I sprained my ankle very badly in high school...it took about 7 years to heal completely (stop aching after exercise, and such). The ankle brace helped a lot, when worn sparingly. Trust me, it will be worth it to take care of it a little!

My diet has always been healthy thanks to my parents and I also walk regulary thanks to my dog. The biggest change Avatar brought, was that I quit playing MMOPRGs. Now when playing is out of the way taking time, I have began to enjoy these walks, I have picked up Parkour, and generally, my physical health seems to be only getting better.

Fitness is a huge part of my life, I'm glad to see some other people are feeling the same way!

I actually posted a few threads like this on A/F back in the day...

Anyways, eat at least 5 to 7 small meals a day, with lean meats and veggies. I prefer weight lifting myself as I could just never really get into cardio, but make sure you get an hour or so of exercise 5 or 6 days a week depending on your fitness level. As long as you get out there, put a solid effort in, and sweat- you WILL see improvement and ultimately feel very confident and happy with yourself!

Now, sad story time- I didn't work out yesterday (gotta take a 1 day break now and then), but turns out I likely can't exercise today. That means doing squats on Monday is going to be super tough...

Id like to know what you guys eat. My menu expanded alittle, but only alittle.
*Very little veggies in the home*
-Bannas
-Celery (I try my best to just wash it down with water)
-Eggs
-Tuna
-Pineapple (when it's available)

And I need to try a whole load of other things.

Mmmmmm, I LOOOVE pineapple!

My general (realistic) day would consist of this...
Keep in mind there's some 'junk' as in heavier foods in there, but it's because I like to keep it high-calorie, high-protein. Otherwise, I get head rushes from too little nutrition, lethargic, and so on.

Breakfast: 2-3 eggs, ketchup, cheese, bacon/ham, milk, orange juice

Inter-breakfast snack: Something protein related if I worked out, otherwise fruit such as a granny smith apple

Lunch: Whole wheat rice with salmon, or pasta with some meat

Snack: More fruit, assorted nuts such as almonds, peanuts, and raisins. Maybe a sandwich or more meat if I'm having a hungry day, or cottage cheese/yogurt.

Dinner: Meat (Steak, poultry, or fish), Vegetables (Potatoes and/or
asparagus, sweet potato, beans, or broccoli/etc), and a salad. Usually have milk with that too.

After dinner/before bed snack: Tea and cereal if I feel like being unhealthy (Yes, I'm almost 20 and I still eat fruit loops and corn pops... So kill me ), or tea and yogurt/some other moderate protein dairy product.

Hmmm, that mostly sums it up. Many meals, lots of protein, lots of meat. As long as I'm staying active of course. I find with this sort of thing going I never really get tired or crappy-feeling in the middle of the day.

[EDIT]: No coffee or soft drinks. Like seriously, I'll have a pop like once every other month at the most, I just never get one. If I'm at a restaurant, it's usually iced tea or water, sometimes milk if it's in the morning. If you don't have good nutrition at the moment, seriously- just doing this alone will have you feeling great.

I hope that this is a temporary thing for you as its not exactly the best thing for your body.

As for pushing through the pain as stated earlier, thats how you grow. When you look at building muscle you are tearing the muscle tissue and then as it repairs it grows back stronger. Its the same thing with the guys who break tons of bricks with their arms, they have slowly micro fractured their arms when doing it and the bone grows back thicker and stronger than before. Always improve, you ran/walked so far today, push for more the next time you go out or you body will just plateau and never change.
It was a temporary thing, just to get out of older bad habits.

My diet is something like this

Breakfast: cheerios or whole grain cereal with non fat milk, spoon full of peanut butter (protein) and a protein shake

Snack: protein bar most of the time

Lunch: Grilled chicken or steak salad with low fat dressing and apple

Snack: string cheese or 1% cottage cheese

Dinner: tilapia, salmon, grilled chicken, or steak with mixed veggies and a small side salad with low fat dressing.

Isn't Steak expensive? The closest I can get to steak is Venison from the hunting season. That usually last about a month or so.

It practically lasts forever if you have a good freezer. We have a couple in our basement (My stepmom works with food so she's all into that stuff). In fact I had a steak from the middle of December at the end of last month with my band buddies

But yes, steak is expensive. Besides, poultry and fish are both better for you, though fish is even more costly.

You can always do what Ill do, roam around the store and when they are having a special on something stock up and freeze what you dont use that day. Thats usually how I get my steak they have a sale in the store and Ill grab a few, cook some and freeze the rest.

I've been at this excersie thing for about a good 2-4 weeks, and every day is a new strain or a pulled muscle. Thank goodness for protein. It helps alot.

Jumbo eggs ftw.
