Go to this website, you can type in your city and compare the size of the Gulf Coast oil spill to known distances. It's like a punch in the gut.

Well we do not need a map to know is absolutely catastrophic and that it dwarfs any previous oil spill in recorded history. The Valdez Oil spill was kindergarten stuff compared to this monstrosity. But why can't they cap the damn thing off? Capping the well and stopping the goddamn outflow of all that dreadful toxic sludge would go a long way.

This disaster has hit me harder than any that I can remember. Obviously its so much worse for me, because it is human made. This isn't a hurricane like Katrina or an earthquake. This is something humans are solely responsible for. This only builds my desire to get out and do something to help preserve the naturality of nature.
Get it done people. This is our calling to action!

Actually the Valdez was 40 million+ litres of oil. This is only about 13.5 million. That was yesterday so add another few hundred thousand litres to that.
