If bioware gets it OH MY GOD.
I think an Avatar MMO would be really fun! I'd still hang out at the forums, so we can still talk. I don't think one thing can replace the other.

I will NEVER, repeat NEVER play an Avatar MMO. For several reasons:

1. It will cost money. I do not want to pay money to talk to all of you.

2. I really like our conversations about deeper things the most. These kind of things I feel can be discussed better here and in IRC, than in a computer game.

3. I want to feel Pandora in my mind, get my own impression of how it would feel to be there. Not really play it out in a game.

4. I am not interested in playing a game. I want to talk to all of you, befriend you. Not play a game.

5. An avatar game would force me to focus on that and nothing else if I would like to speak to you. Right now I can do things at the same time, which is very important for me as I am a quite busy person.

In other words... a complete no-go for me.
I already said this in IRC, will repeat it here since nobody really listened before:
1. You don't need to 'pay money to talk to all of you'. You won't play the MMO, whatever, but I'm not going to stop talking to you because you don't...

2. Again, I'm not going to stop talking to you because you aren't playing.

3. Well, that's your opinion, but I'll say, then why did you watch Avatar? Surely it would be better to imagine it?

4. YET AGAIN... I'm not going to stop talking to you because you don't play...

5. Fair enough, I guess, although personally I know I could play it and still do other things.

Because it appeals to the lowest common denominator, people who could never play a real MMO. The truth is, it doesn't matter. A mass influx of new players who are completely clueless is bad for an MMO, it happens to EVE semi-regularly.

Kind of off topic, but makes me happy anyway. The new first round pick for the Chargers (Ryan Matthews) says his favorite game is WOW. Wonder what class he prefers.

i used to give my WoW playing friends a hard time for obsessing with something I considered lame, but if an Avatar MMO does come out then I guess I'm a hypocrite

I hope it turns out good. I never played the other game because I heard it wasn't very good. A lot of times, video games based on movies aren't that great.

I certainly think it could be a good idea. I dont think the PS3 game is the best, but learning from that they could sure create more games that draw us in even more.
