Default How will the Omaticaya live...

...now that Hometree is gone.

Mostly all of the fan fics say they find a new hometree to settle in.

The truth is, the Omaticaya lived in hometree for many millenia. if they were to live in a new hometree, it would probebly take months or even years to shape and carve the new tree to be sustainable to the na'vi life style.

What do you guys think.

Well, as far as I can see, they'll have to do just that.

They can't really live at the Tree of Souls forever as it's their most sacred place, a place not designed for living, so i'd say they really have no alternative.

Hmm... I suppose it's not entirely impossible, but the terrain they live in and are accustomed to doesn't really lend itself well to that way of life in my personal opinion.

Good question though, might just have to think about this one.

They will probably go find another big tree to live in. During the movie there are many trees noticeably larger than the rest but none as big as Hometree.

I bet they won't go to live in Hells Gate .

I couldn't really see them not finding a new Hometree. It might take a while to find the right tree, but whatever the Omaticaya choose will eventually become home again.

I love how the na'vi can live with little things that are provided.

i didn't know they had to carve out the tree, i thought it was naturally like that. if so, then they can just go move to another tree although i'm guessing since they aren't common then it maybe occupied by another clan.

Rainbowhawk, I really doubt it.

tm20, they didn't, there's nothing canon that says that. You can actually see some smaller hometrees in the intro.
Hometree actually looked a lot more like multiple trees in some form of symbiotic relationship than a single tree (the columns, and the spiral in the middle), probably another consequence of the linked nature of life on Pandora.

Thats what i'm tring to show, the ordiginal home tree had those coulms and also the spiral walk way for the na'vi could go up and down the trunk. other large trees may not have it.
