The Whining Game.

The other day when I was babysitting my cousin's little girl, whom generally is nothing short of cheerfully sweet and delightful, probably because she was tired started whining, and poor Aunti Kat just about went up a wall.

"Whining—that awful cross between crying and talking—is one of the most annoying sounds any of us can hear. It grates like nails on a chalkboard and can bring out the temper in the most patient person!"

So when all else failed, I found this little ditty on the net ..

"Although this sounds silly, it can have a wonderful effect. By joining in on the whining without mocking, you’re letting her know that although her feelings are legitimate, her style of expressing them is inappropriate. Besides, after a couple of minutes of doing this together, you’ll probably both be giggling, your child will feel better, and the whining will stop."

AND what do you know .. IT WORKED!
