I had always avoided the 3D films before as I always thought I would never be able to see them properly as I'm colour blind and have a dodgy left eye
![]() However, after seeing Avatar in 2D and being blown away by it I thought I would take the plunge - at an IMAX. The nearest one to me was 50 miles away, so I got on the train to sample the delight of Birmingham's IMAX. I wasn't expecting much and found myself wondering what the hell I was doing in the queue as I walked up to get my glasses. (That must have been the Avatar affect!) And then the film started... Boy how wrong could I be! The sublety of it made it all the more real. Seeing Jake come out of cryo and the depth into the screen was mind boggling. When tracking through the Pandoran forest I almost lifted my hand up to move the leaves out of the way. Good job it was dark I must have glowed red with embarresment! Yep it worked for me. I did go again and took some mates and my mum too - she had to take them off a few times suffering with vertigo. Ha, ha, ha! I've since had a go as shooting some 3D footage myself which I have posted on here somewhere. So to answer your question: Avatar was my first time! Alan |
