My wife and I went (again) last weekend, taking along two people who hadn't seen it yet. Gotta spread the word.

The theatre was about 75% full - not bad for a film that's been out for three months! Lots of movies have come and gone in that time but Avatar's still packing the house. I can see why a re-release would be alluring.
