A Little Help Please?
I was wondering if someone could possibly be so kind as to get some high-res shots of Na'vi jewelery, particularly the bracelets and armbands etc.
I plan to either remake some of them or to make some based on them and I need the source material...

I will let you know if I have any requests, thanks for the offer. Edit: Just one more if you could please... I think during the scene where Neytiri kills Quaritch, where she pulls the bow before firing, I think she's wearing some kind of band on her upper arm which has feathers on it, do you think you could possibly get a couple of shots of that please?

Grace also has a necklace on her avatar body that was undoubtedly made by the Na'vi. I was going to draw it but I watched the rest of the movie instead of pausing

I actually have made Neytiri's necklace and am working on some other designs as well. What I noticed is that her necklace is very different from everyone elses. (I have a pic of it in my album on my profile) Now, this could be just personal style, as most have noticed, they do wear adornments but I think it also depends on your status in the clan.
There are actually 'official' pieces of jewelry that were on display somewhere. I saw pictures and (IMHO) my Neytiri choker was more accurate than the 'official' version! Of course mine is scaled to fit a human neck, but there was also a copy of Jake's 'turquoise' arm band. That will take some work to do as it involves some off loom bead weaving. Anywhoo.... thanks for the pics there were some that I hadn't seen before! Quote:

The armband itself is not too difficult to duplicate...the feathers on the other hand... I still haven't gone to the local fishing supply story to see what they have. I found some colored feathers at a craft store but just not 'quite' the same.
I would love to see if the jewelry is virtual or real. They would need to have something tangible to base it on, but with the technology, you never know. I've added a few other necklaces that are 'inspirations' based on Na'vi jewelry. Nothing seen in the movie. The other armband that I'm having a hard time duplicating is Neytiri's 'stick' band. I know what it looks like, but will be difficult to find the proper plant material to do it. Post pictures when you get done with your projects! OR at least a link! (I now have the ability to do screen caps myself... Skitch is wonderful!)

According to the backstory the feathers are apparently the wings of arthropod like creatures, not real feathers at all.

I figured that within the story they were from creatures from Pandora. Finding Earth bird feathers that come close is the issue.
I'm a 'nuts and bolts' kind of person, finding out whether the costumer got actual feathers from here or did they use 'virtual' feathers is the question. One of those shots makes the feathers look rather transparent and not physically there... could be a trick of the CG.
