Default Neytiri's tsaheylu with...

Got your attention didn't I?
This is a legit thought though. Given the depth of connection in tsaheylu, think about her riding the Thanator! No one likely had ever connected with one of those before..it's a predator! I wondered about it after I did notice that her braid is definitely connected to one of the strands from the animals head.
You can't connect with something like that and not take some of it away with you, especially after it was killed right on top of her. She had two animals die while she was bonded with them... that has to profoundly affect her in dealing with life afterward.
I also think that Jake was more confident and aggressive given his bond with Toruk. You feel the animal and all it's movements, what about some of it's instincts and traits? He seemed to definitely have a connection with it as he walked past it's head after he landed.
Granted none of that is inferred, but Neytiri seems to be more aggressive in her attack on Quarritch snarling and yelling as she guided the thanator to attack.
Anyone elses thoughts on this?

I agree with you.

The tsahaylu connection is on such a deep neurological level that you can't help but retain some of the qualities of the creature that you bond with, as you are sharing the same mind for as long as tsahaylu holds.

But with that being said, I think that the imprint at first only lasts a short while after you are bonded with a specific creauture. The more often you are connected to say, an Ikran, the longer the impression begins to hold on the rider. After extended periods of time then I think that you gradually intergrate those qualities into your personality, without realizing it.

Basically, I think that both Na'vi and creature just tend to rub off on each other with the time they spend linked.

Feel free to add or correct me ^^

Good one. I hadn't thought about this.

As Alyara said, Tsaheylu is such a deep connection that surely you would take on some of the traits of the animal (or even person) you're making Tsaheylu with. Also, if something were to die while you were bonded, I should imagine you would actually feel whatever it was you were bonded with dying and feeling it's pain. It would be a very harrowing experience.

Yeah you can hear Neytiri scream in pain when both Seze and Thanator die.

Interesting... I'd kind of thought about it before, but not really deeply like that... I think you're right. She was certainly fighting Quaritch with everything, although she was fighting to save Jake as well

So, here's the other question.
Since Seze has died, obviously Neytiri has to get herself a new Ikran. That would be a cool turnabout to see her capture a new one and have Jake fly down to meet her.

Indeed

Yeah, I guess Neytiri will get a new Ikran at some time.
