I will have to wait till it's re-released on August to watch it in Imax. It better be showing in Imax around here or I will be pissed.

Hopefully they have good 3D glasses because the one time I went to an IMAX (in Dallas) they had awful glasses.

I've never seen Avatar in anything greater than DvD.

I'd invite you over to watch it on bluray with me, but the whole Atlantic ocean thing is kind of in the way.

Well Marley be sure to see it if they re-release it this summer/fall. Such a different movie on the big screen. Still awesome at home, but nothing like it from IMAX or 3D.

And hey Grif, you can invite me

I have never seen it in IMAX... the prices are just way, way, waaaaay too steep in this country.

That means you have either seen it already or are seeing it today.
Important advice!!!

Get a seat in the middle

I went and was left with a seat to the extrem right. All I will say is that it was terrible. The screen was skewed and I was sadly disappointed
Enjoy

Well that is a shame. They arent cheap here in the US, but not horrible. Sorry they do that to you guys, its a great experience. Hope it is more reasonable for you by Avatar 2.

The main expense with IMAX is getting there because there aren't many

If it was easier to get to (and not fully booked most of the time), I would have seen it in IMAX a lot more than twice...

I saw it in regular IMAX (not digital, not 3-D) and I was disappointed in the resolution. It wasn't as good as Bluray and I would have pegged it closer to DVD. That shouldn't be. It should be better than the non-IMAX theaters, the frame size is massive. I wondered whether the projector was out of focus but I see no reason why it would be.

That's interesting, I though the film version of IMAX was supposed to have great picture quality. Maybe the projectionist just had poor eyesight?

Yeah, sounds badly set up. The resolution at the IMAX I went to was amazing
