Default If Avatar had flopped...

... in the cinema, unlikely as this would ever be. Imagine if Avatar simply faded into the film industry background along with many movies in 2009, with very little ticket sales or popularity, how would us and our world be different?

Would you have still seen it or was it because of its popularity that convinced you to go watch it? If Avatar failed to gather attention, would you have still seen it?

Do you think the new markets of 3D Cinema and 3D TV would still have exploded even if Avatar wasn't a success?

What would you be doing or feeling now if you never had seen Avatar or if it never impacted you enough to change your mental attitudes?

I have to admit. The only reason why I saw it was because my friend bought it when it came out on blu-ray in April and we watched it. If it wasn't for that, I probably wouldn't have had the incentive to be obsessed with the film. I would have missed out a lot, and I wouldn't be posting on this forum. AND, I also wouldn't have made the short film in my signature.

If this was the case... Then I wouldn't know any of you and I'd be yet another human that does not 'see'.

If this happened...

Wouldn't matter, really. I'd still see it and still be amazed. I adore all sorts of films that most people hate, or else flopped in the box office. I'm a movie buff, I don't just go for the blockbusters.

Seriously, I go see it because my mom bring me and I did not want to see, I did want to see Sherlock homes. We finally see Avatar and I was stunted, impressed, amazed... like after you wake up of a dream don't totally understand what happen.

To make short, maybe the cinema industry would probably not have explode and I probably not have know about AF and TOS, if Avatar had flopped but, Avatar would have been the no.1 movie of my life.

I never knew how popular it was till after I watched it and found AF. I had heard that it cost a lot and me and dad weren't doing anything one evening and decided to go to the theater and "Hey, lets watch this Avatar movie" We did and it changed my world ever since.

I never heard about the movie (except seeing the trailer) so yeah I would still watch it. And it didn't change me a bit, I'm the way I was before seeing it.

I honestly thought it was going to BOMB. I saw the trailer and thought "This is so dumb it's embarrassing." I would not have seen it if it hadn't been for all the people saying how awesome it was. If I had gone despite this, I would still been affected the same way and would have been absolutely STUNNED that this wasn't INSANELY popular, like it is.

i don't think it would have changed for me. i fell in love with everything I saw and I couldn't wait to go see it again. It was actually the first film I ever saw on premier day. Maybe i may not have met some of you people, but that's about it. You guys are actually the only ones i can talk to forever about Avatar, my friends and family only see it as a movie. And if it wasn't so successful then I probably wouldn't have the books and Neytiri poster along with the magazine it came in, but it still wouldn't make the obsession go away. I love Avatar and I will til I die

I think it would still be the same for me. I saw it because I had nothing better to do one evening, didn't really have any expectations...

The popularity of Avatar wasn't what got me to go see it. It was actually one of the trailers and just that couple minutes of footage was enough to draw me in And even if it flopped it would still have been the most amazing film I've ever seen, and had the same effect on me.
