I remember hearing lots about avatar during the weeks leading up to its' release.. and tbh it didn't interest me at all. It was just yet another overhyped movie to me, and i had no intention of going to watch it when it came out.

However, i ended up going to see it anyway, since a bunch of my friends were going who convinced me to come along. I was pretty exited about all the 3D stuff, as it was my first 3D movie, but didn't expect much else.

Oohh how silly i was.. when i came out of the cinema, i literally couldn't speak. I really hadn't expected it to be so beautiful and colourful and deep and awesome and immersive and just generally amazingggg.

If it had flopped, i don't think it would have changed much for me. Sure, the many awesome forums wouldn't be around, but i would still be as obsessed with it as i am now probably.

P.s, this is my first post here, so.. hello everybody

I didn't know anything about the movie. I didn't see the trailers, etc so when I started to see a bunch of silly articles on how terrible Avatar was (anti-military, etc) then I decided that I should see it. I wasn't very impressed with the first viewing but it started to grow on me so I went again.....I fell in love and quickly tried to find a place online to talk about it . In the meantime, I saw it several more times.

If it had flopped, I probably would never of heard of it and never would have met any of you here .
