I quite interesting phenomenom I discovered not long ago while doing some snaphots from Avatar on my computer...
Tsaheylu Glows! ![]() ![]() ![]() So... As you all see, the Tsaheylu between Tsu'Tay and the Pa'li glows with a strong purple light at both disconnection AND connection. Although, one thing that seperates the discon. and con., is that the queue itself on the Pa'li glows at con., but not discon.. And maybe it is the same thing for Na'vis! Who knows? I mean, we can't see Tsu'Tays Queue!, just the hair around! it! Maybe some of you have seen this, but for me it is completely new! So I then wondered if it was the same thing with Ikrans. I tried to remember a scene where you can see the bonding with an Ikran while it's dark to see the glow as good as possible (I think everyone remember that all the times Tsaheylu has been made in daylight, there has been no glow) And I found this one. (Tsu'Tay again lol )![]() And would you look at that... NO GLOW!!! ![]() ![]() My guess is that the glow itself must be some sort of Bioluminescence ofc. But the strange thing is that, what glows really? There aren't exactly any Biolum. spots on the queues tendrils, so how??? And why NOT with Ikrans??? I'm clueless ![]() Just the normal "What you think" (why and how) from here on!!! Discuss!

I'm thinking that it's not yet nighttime in the Ikran scene.
Look at Tsu'tey here, the sun's still out. ![]() EDIT: Look at the sky, too.

Cause, when he connected with the Ikran it was dark down in the cavity. So, do we know if Biolumisenscence is controlled by just the amount of light that is directed to the glowing-source or the different time periods on a day?

...in the butt! What what? In the butt! You wanna do it in my butt, in my butt? You wanna do it in my butt, in my butt? Okay...
sorry I had to, can't loose a chance to remind everyone of that horrifying video. ![]() Anyway on topic... I think the glow was there just because Avatar stuff thought it would "look cool" in that scene, it could very well be night time during the Ikran scene, because in half of pandorian year, the Alpha Centauri B (the orange one) always lights up the "night part" of Pandora, so the nights look like in the Ikran scene, the other half a year the nights are dark like in the first scenes. Now it's been 3 months since then so there is a probability it could be the changed cycle, but in the scene with the clan from the plains it's dark so I just wrote something and successfully argumented against it. I'm such a genius.

The Pa'li have biolume spots, the Ikran do not. I don't think the Na'vi queue glows but the Pa'li connection does because of that. I think there is a relationship between the natural spotting they have and the glow. The Ikran don't normally fly at night and they are mountain creatures, they don't have biolume coloring?
Btw, I did notice that glow the first time, thought it was very cool. I'm a plant geek as well so all the glowing plants and interaction with the biology and stuff is just very cool!

i noticed the glow too, it must be the same thing as what the moss/fungi/grass have. notice when they walk along the ground, where their foot steps, it lights up. contact must trigger a reaction which produces light. pandora is so cool

I also noticed the glowing queues when Grace was carried up to the Tree of Souls. If you look really close it even looks like some of the individual strands of hair that surround the queue glow. I love the bio-luminescence of Pandora

I did notice this before, didn't really think so much of it, since everything glows
