We have all seen Neytiri - as pixels on a monitor - as colors on the big screen - as 3d models in physical interpretations. But what is it, that makes us feel so strongly about Neytiri? What makes us feel so emotionally attached to her?
We humans often has a tendency of seeing things not physically tangible as "not real". But what makes something real? If we can be so strongly affected by Neytiri, how can she not be real? What do we really see in Neytiri? Some see her emotional side, her personality - and some love her for her looks, her appearance. Is it a bad thing to love Neytiri for only her looks? Is it a bad thing to love Neytiri for only her personality? I say no. Neytiri should be someone who's personality, happiness, beauty and lifestyle can guide us in life. Someone to look up to, to feel emotionally bound with. Feeling physical attraction to her is something I do as well - but we must never forget what Neytiri represents - and what we can learn from her and everything she stands for. Yes, I am feeling physically attracted to Neytiri. And it's something I do not hide - like those of you who feel the same, I stand up for it. But I, and everyone else here too, should always remember that physical attraction is not all there is, and that Neytiri has more to teach us and show us, than a physical ideal to look up to. I love her for her looks and physique, just as much as I love her for the emotional messages she shows all of us. Different people might feel attracted to different sides of Neytiri - and of course everyone should be free to feel whatever that person wants. But I know that all of you sees Neytiri for more than a sex object - and I hope we can all remember that she is so much more than just that. I know that we here - we can all learn from ALL sides of her, and let her guide us in our daily lives. No, she is not a godly thing. But what she REPRESENTS is - it's something we all can learn from - something we can look at, as an example of how our lives should be. If you don't need to change your life, you don't have to. But... at least for me... it feels great to have something to reflect upon, look at and say - "I can change my life to become more like hers". And that's the thing. Neytiri will last FOREVER. She is something we can ALWAYS look at, think about - she won't leave us, she won't disappear - she will be in our minds, if we let her. Isn't THAT real? Neytiri can have an impact on our lives - what she represents has the power to change who we are - isn't that real? Neytiri isn't just pixels on a screen - Neytiri is a MESSAGE. And a very real one.

"...it's like saying that ideals like freedom or truth are nothing but simply neural connections; when there are actually people who have died for them. There's something beneath the material "mask", you know what I mean?
In the case of Jake or Neytiri, there was something else beneath the pixels. That "something" is what makes Avatar a life-changing movie." A visitor message I posted on Ally's profile.

Love your post Eltu. This (along with Neytiri_Quest's Why We Love Neytiri-Part II) is probably one of my favorite things I've seen written about her.
About a month and a half after I first saw Avatar, I had to ask myself if I actually was in love with Neytiri; the state of being in love with a movie character was foreign to me and a little bit frightening. In searching for an answer, I thought of how affected I was feeling, how inspired I was to change myself, and of the new goals that I was setting for myself. The effects of her and the movie were real and tangible upon me. The answer, I realized, could only be a resounding yes. Even though I know I won't ever meet Neytiri, I'm still glad of everything that's happened to me because of her. Ultimately, I feel my life will be more positive in the long run.

Yes, true every word. Even though I never completely fell in love with her, she, as well as the whole movie changed me a lot. I have taken some parts of her way of life in to my own life and I do feel enlightened.
Now I care more about my health.. in both mental and physical sides as well as the health of others and nature. Just respecting myself as I am, and not trying to become anything more is an easy way to feel good. That too learned from her. Also, The "Sezecall" sound she makes is really fun to do while climbing around in the trees.
