This is a work in progress story, this was writted just for me, until I was asked to share it here. Let me know what you think!
Chapter 1 I awoke to a sound that sounded like a bomb would go off. I groaned and rolled over in my bed, consciousness slowly setting in. That noise had to stop. I slammed my hand down on the Snooze button on my alarm and the noise stopped. I guess I accidentally did something to my iHome so it would play the annoying beeping sound rather than some relaxing music to wake up to. Now I’m in a bad mood. I hated it when I’m in a bad mood in the mornings. Then I’m mad when I go to work, and my day at work seems like forever, putting me in an even worse mood. But luckily I have my trade school to look forward to afterwards, learning what I love; working on cars. I put my hands over my unshaven face and rubbed my eyes with my fingers, trying to wake up. I just wanted to sleep in a little bit more, just a few minutes. I looked at my alarm clock to see the time, which I couldn’t. I grabbed my glasses on the stand next to my iHome and put them on. 7:35am. Crap, I’m a dead man. I threw off the covers and found my pajama bottoms and slipped them on. Don’t get me wrong; I hate my job. I scan and file paperwork. It’s the sort of job for me that makes me feel my life is just slipping away by sitting in front of a monitor, listening to the scanner scan the papers, load, save, and start over. Some may praise this job because they don’t do much, but I want to be up and actually doing some manual labor… like working on cars. Doing something I enjoy and earning money for it as well. It’s just now, I need the money for gas, stuff for my hobbies, and savings. I graduate in a couple months, and getting a job around here isn’t easy. I only need to wait a few more months. But now, my boss told me if I was late one more time I’m getting fired. I contemplated taking a shower or not, then decided I should take a super fast one. I walked into my parents’ bedroom and into the bathroom and turned the knobs for the shower. I slipped off everything and felt the water. It felt perfect, so I quickly stepped in and scrubbed myself off. I decided to skip the shampoo today. I shut off the water and shivered as a cool breeze flowed through the open bathroom window. I pulled back the shower curtain, dried myself off, got back into my pajamas and went back to my room. “Alright I’m leaving for work, I’ll see you tonight,” my mom said from the kitchen. “Alright!” I responded, slipping on a pair of dirty jeans and my schools uniform shirt. “I’ll see you tonight!” I sat down on my bed and slipped on my Kandi bracelets and put on my shoes and socks, grabbed my phone, keys, and iPod, and walked outside. I started my car to warm it up, and walked back inside. I love my car. Just throwing that out there. Walking into the bathroom I looked at myself in the mirror. My eyes looked dead, my face unshaven, my hair a mess. I grabbed my contacts case and put in my contacts and brushed my teeth. Quickly I splashed cold water in my face to wake me up. And actually it made me feel a bit better too. I walked out of the garage, pressed the code to close the garage door, got in my car, and started off. I dared not look at the time. Normally I wouldn’t care about the time. When I get there is when I’ll get there. I hated being stressed, even about as something as stupid to getting to a job I hated on time. But now the tables turned against me. After backing out of the driveway, I rolled down all my windows and shifted my 2000 Honda Accord EX V6 into drive, and started down to the end of our cul-de-sac. I turned on the CD player, and cranked it to full volume. I love to listen to my music loud. I sped off down our neighborhood and reached the main street. I zoned out for a few minutes, thinking about what would happen if I did get fired today. How would I tell my parents? Obviously my spending habits would be altered drastically. Ugh. Not good. I noticed I was now crossing an intersection leading to Downtown Upland. It’s a nice small little event type place, where they host different festivals, some car shows here and there, and has a lot of nice little shops. I cruised through, noticing none of the stores were opened yet. They never were when I drove through at this time. A parked car caught my eye, a nice ’70 El Camino. I stared at it, turning my head as I drove past. “Nice,” I mumbled underneath my breath as I turned back my attention to the road, where suddenly something blue darted out in front of my car. “Woah!” I said as I slammed on the brakes, my anti-lock brakes caused my tires to chirp as my car came to a halt. The blue figure darted to the right and disappeared behind a building, going down an ally. I threw my hands up, upset. “What the heck?” I shouted. I was angry I put my car through that. Like I said, I loved my car. I don’t know what I was thinking, I took my foot off the brake pedal and gave it gas and turned to my right to go down the alley. I rolled up my windows and stopped the car, put it in park and turned the car off. I stepped out, locked my doors and softly shut my door. I began to walk down the alley to the corner of a building. I came around the corner and saw a person running. But they were blue, and they were holding something. “Hey!” I called out. The person looked back, but kept running. I began to chase. “Hey!” I called out. To be honest I wasn’t sure what I would say when I caught up to them. I didn’t think about it. “Hey!” I called again. The person ran around another building. I quickly came to the building and when I came around, I saw a brown stick fly at my face. It wacked me in the side of the head and I feel down onto the brick road. Suddenly my world became very distorted. I felt light headed, yet a pain in my head. Then I heard someone talking, a smooth voice but it sounded upset. I couldn’t focus on the words, I was so turned around. “You do not come near me! You stay away!” The person said. Slowly things started to come back, and I realized I was starting at the end of a wooden pole, like one you’d see in crafting stores except thicker. I tried to focus on who was holding onto the pole, and I indeed saw a blue figure. I blinked several times to try and focus, see if it was real or not. As the seconds passed, things became more clear, and I was now able to get a good look at this person, but what I saw made me think I got hit harder than I thought. I squeezed my eyes shut, shook my head, and looked again. The same person was standing there. She was tall and blue. She had big glassy yellow golden eyes, a cat-like pushed in nose, cat-like ears, and black braided hair, some with beads on them. I examined the rest of her body, which was like I said, blue. All over her body including her face had dark blue stripes. She had a big necklace with feathers that covered her breasts, and a loin cloth around her waist. I noticed she only had four fingers, and a tail moving around behind her. “Do not follow,” she ordered, pole still pointed at my face, and then she spun around with a quick movement and started running. I continued to lay there on the ground, stunned over what happened within the past couple minutes. “Wait!” I called after her, and I scrambled to my feet and ran after her. “Wait!” She stopped and turned to me, and as I neared she pointed the pole back at me again with an upset look in her face. “Do not follow!” She instructed again. I slowed to a stop. |
