Overpopulation will likely be a severe issue, and procreation control itself will likely be the logical means of control. I would think that involuntary and irreversible chemical sterilization the most likely and humane means, accompanied by a societal sacrifice of the right to bear children. Easier said than done....but I also agree, if asked, that harsher means are intolerable. Edit: I also concur that exploring this line of thinking is perhaps a bit too grim for this happy thread and forum.

Yeah, I have some somewhat radical overpopulation control theories, but I dare not mention them around PunkMaister. Our logic is mutual.

I'm also guessing that all that people are mostly Africans as they are the ones out of control nowadays. So the world goes to hell on a handbasket because of Africa alone. As to why they do not seem to have the political power that comes in being the overwhelming majority is probably because most are still highly uneducated and are just cheap labor in Avatar Earth.

In the ASG there are some unused shots of what Earth looks like as well as a description. There is no green left. Period. Yosemite was given over to condos years ago, the falls are a sludge dribble and if you want to see trees you have to look at them in pictures.
That's what he meant by 'they killed their mother'. There is no plant life left except for the ocean and that's even pushing it.
So yeah, to people like Grace and the 'older' generation, Pandora is a 180 from where they came from.
He wasn't exaggerating, he was putting it in terms that Eywa would understand. I suspect also that Eywa would be able to see into Jake's memories as well and see where they come from.
It will make a bigger impact if we are able to see what Earth looks like compared to Pandora.
