Default Everyone Should See "making of Avatar"

Maybe it's a little 'inside baseball' for some of you, but this fascinating half hour video gives a very exclusive behind the scenes of the production of the movie, including the unique and incredible 'virtualcamera' that JC used to see what he was filming in real-time graphics.

If you look carefully, there's a bit on unreleased finished footage in part 3. Nothing huge though.

I love watching those kinds of videos! I've done theater so anything 'behind the scenes' is food for my experience. I had seen other videos that used similar footage but what I had been looking for was the technology that they used. It was all there.. and it is FANTASTIC!!
(Although Ribisi saying that the story was original... may have been a bit of a stretch but that's not the reason for the videos or this post).
I wanted to see all that stuff they did, going to an actual jungle, filming them exploring... ::sigh::
That kind of made my day considering what I did today.
Thanks for finding those Zai!
The bummer of having the regular 2D version of the movie is there aren't any extras.
I totally geeked out on the Star Wars prequels and all the behind the scenes stuff for those. I wanted to see the same stuff here and... you found it for me!

Going to go edit my slideshow 'video'... which means I have to watch the movie...ah darn.

As a general rule, I prefer not to see making of documentaries... It just removes the magic for me. Otherwise, when i'm watching the film next I can't help thinking "Oh, that scene was done using this technique" all the time...

You don't go to a see a magician only for him to show you how all the tricks are done at the end of the show.

Normally I would totally agree with you, but my curiousity got the better of me... and fortunately, I viewed it months ago and forget most of it!

Hmm Im quite the opposite. I watched the complete making of Star Trek (2009) and after watching all the techniques and work JJ. put into the film just makes me respect the film more. Same goes for Avatar.
