Default Mac Video-Help Needed.

I am attempting my first 'music video' using actual footage from Avatar. I've done one before but using stills set to music this time I have the capability (or so I thought) to capture video from the movie on my computer and create a video using other music.

IF anyone else out there has a newer mac or is familiar with them can you please message me? I can do video clips, but getting those clips to my desktop or imovie is the issue.
I'm really frustrated about this (as most tortured artists are) I am currently writing down the lyrics to the song and putting in video cues so once that is done I'll be ready to start editing the actual scenes. I really need to get this figured out.

Rarrrr! Help!

Hmm, little confused.

So you've recorded all your clips, but can't figure out how to import them into iMovie?
What do you mean you can't get them on to your desktop? You mean you can't save them? I really think there should be a save button. As for iMovie, aside from the obvious "Have you tried the import button," what type of file are they? I'm not on a mac, but I suspect iMovie might not accept certain videos.

After doing some help search, it's more trouble than it's worth. I'll just do a slide show using still shots.
::sigh::
Already started the project, as soon as I get it to the point it would be viewable by the public, I'll post a link here. It may be a while, took Cameron 14 years for Avatar! Mine should take only a week or so.

I'm getting down the the last edits, and (IMHO) this is going to be a great video. Not really a video, more like a musical slideshow..but it's turning out very well. Hope to have it done by tonight, at the latest tomorrow night. It will get exported directly to youtube and the link will be posted here.

(SQUEEEE!!! some of the beat marks and images just fell into place so well I just about jumped out of my seat it was so perfect!)
