Default Oil Spill Update.

Confirming that a cap is in place, and that oil is no longer leaking.

BP: No oil leaking into Gulf from busted well - Yahoo! News

Grats to BP for getting the job done.

This is very good news. What a mess this whole thing has been.

I haven't really been following the story much, but great news nonetheless.

Excellent, excellent news, though I see that some people in the region find it hard to believe. Trying to put myself in their shoes, it must seem incredulous after so many days of spillage, obstructed jobs, etc.

I'm still finding it hard to believe. I HOPE that it is finally been capped. Now, for the clean up and perhaps allowing the oil workers and fishermen to get back to their jobs. Sadly, it will take a while for the wildlife to recover from this and in turn the people who live along the coast. What I also hope is that there will be very few hurricanes since that could hurt the chances of cleaning it up too.

I'm trying to stay optimistic...for the wildlife and for the people.

Let's all hope hurricane season will pass well for everyone there.

People are going off at BP now. Everyone makes mistakes...

...but normally don't spill tons of oil in the ocean.

It's about time someone did something useful! XD It's been so depressing hearing all the talk about the oil spill =[ Mistakes do happen but If I heard right they weren't suposed to be sailing over there anyway...lol

Apparently some Aussie is swimming through it to raise funds.

Good for him.

I'm so happy they got that cap in place and the oil has stopped spewing into the Gulf! It's unbelievable how a company rushing to save a few millions dollars by cutting corners will now be on the hook for tens of billions of dollars in clean-up costs, fines and damages.

A lesson to learn from...
