If anyone is as crazy about the news as I am, you might have caught James Cameron on CNN. He was named "Most Intriguing Person of the Day" on Rick's List. Every day someone is chosen out of all the headlines to fill such title and today Cameron was chosen for helping an Iroquois lacrosse team. The team from Canada is scheduled to play in the world championships in the UK, but was denied entry based on their Native American Passports. Since the UK refused to recognize the team's papers, the team has been grounded in New York, costing them 25,000 dollars a day in hotel and dining expenses. In response, Cameron donated 50,000 dollars to help pay while (hopefully) a solution is found.
Reporting live with BBC News, Caveman.

Are you referring to what CNN said about PAD back in January?

When I saw the thread title I immediately thought, "Intriguing person... of the day?? Why not month, or year?" Must be a show thing or something (I don't watch CNN).
But good going for Cameron. As for CNN, they only report what they want to, so who's to say they aren't reporting something even better than Cameron's help for the Iriquois? ...Or something worse? I just don't trust CNN in any way. |

Really? I didn't. In fact I love CNN. Just because there was a story about PAD a while ago doesn't mean much to me. Actually I just watched the video and I thought it wasn't that bad. It could have been a lot worse, they could have slammed it rather than tried to understand it. And any time they laughed a little at it, I completely understand. The idea of getting really depressed after a movie is going to sound ridiculous to the rest of the world. In fact, it still seems ridiculous to myself.
I only watch CNN. AC 360 is my favorite thing to watch these days. He keeps at stories most stations choose to forget. While the rest of the world has moved on from Haiti, he went back to see just how little has changed. He puts pressure on the government and BP to do more, not that it always works. Anyways, I don't distrust CNN because one story about PAD. I'm curious where you guys are coming from...

Audiences experience 'Avatar' blues - CNN.com
THIS^? You're angry about that? I thought it was a great article. You have to understand that just about everyone who sees this is going to not understand the idea of depression from a movie. I wouldn't have maybe a year ago. So that's how the article starts off - skeptical. But then more opinions, your opinions, are weighed in and the article shifts to understanding. Then, once its understood why someone would feel PAD, it shifts again to helping, talking about the importance of having these kinds of communities/support groups. I must be missing something???

That article literally destroyed my relations with 70% of all people I know. No joke.
So yes. I believe you are missing something.
