The thing that differentiates Avatar from most other movies, is that the location itself, i.e. Pandora, is one of the main characters of the movie.

Pandora is not only the place where the story is told, Pandora (through Ewya) is a heroine in herself.

The main thing that defines a hero or heroine is that they represent something that we should love and want to emulate for what they are or for what they stand for.

Pandora is no different. She is simply another heroine in a movie with whom many of have fallen in love and whose characteristics of empathy, connectedness, naturaL beauty and self-reliance we would like to replicate in the real world around us.
